Reviews
It is not very spacious, seating is quite cramped, and the selection of food and beverages is limited, with overall quality being rather low.
There are only about six seats equipped with power outlets suitable for laptop use.
On the positive side, the staff are friendly and attentive, frequently walking around the lounge to keep the area clean and tidy.
Everyone is extremely helpful, courteous and willing to help.
The food is as good as it can be for a regular AA Admirals lounge.
Seating has mostly the simple couches and some tables and chairs.
There is a view into the terminal.
A bar is also available.
The staff is friendly and attentive. However, the furniture is very outdated with 90s vibe. The dark brown leather chairs are hard, very wore out and dirty. While the cloth chairs are filthy and stained. The men’s restroom could be cleaner. It’s about as clean as McDonald’s restroom. I can say for sure that the food and beverage area is kept nice and have a decent selection of things to consume. I would rate the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport American Airlines Admiral Lounge at 2.5 stars out of 5 stars.
Please update the interior, furniture and restrooms. There’s way too much of a brown theme. It’s not hiding the filth well. For all of the money for the membership. They can do better. The membership should be 25% cheaper for what you get.
For BA you get a different menu with a bigger selection of drinks. And also – it’s at the other end of the airport from the international gates.
The staff do a good job though and I understand a new lounge is being built.
For not visiting many Admiral’s Clubs, this was an excellent place that provided some quiet and comfort, along with really solid food. Sure the food is very limited, but they did have an excellent white chicken chili and great pita, falafel, and tzatziki. They also have fresh fruits and veggies and a bar with complimentary drinks (some complimentary options, some for a small cost).
I was able to relax in comfort and had no issues accessing the lounge. It is on an upper level of the Austin airport, and there is an elevator to take you there!
The highlight of the experience was the lovely African American lady at the check in desk. She was friendly and helpful.
Website says cost is $59 or 5900 miles, cost is really $79 or 7900 miles. Worth about $6.
