We shared a plate of their daily pasta special – I forget what it was called but it was very good.
Then, she ordered a veal dish (again one of the daily specials) and I ordered the branzino. Both were quite good.
And for dessert, we shared something chocolate.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that too many of the dishes on the menu had similar color and flavor profiles. The flavors were good, but by the end of the meal we’d each encountered artichokes in a lemony sauce in at least three different dishes. Each one on its own was excellent, but the cumulative effect left us wishing for a bit more variety.
That said – we highly recommend it.
Good friends, great service, great food, not much more to ask for in life
I’d recommend this restaurant as a good option, if one is in the area, but it I would not call it a destination restaurant.
The food was absolutely outstanding—each dish was beautifully presented and full of rich, unforgettable flavor. You could truly taste the quality and care put into every bite. Sharing this delicious meal with my family made the night even more special, and the cozy atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy our time together.
To top it all off, the fact that the restaurant offered BYOB was the cherry on top! Being able to bring our favorite wine made the meal even more personal and perfect.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great service, phenomenal food, and a memorable experience with loved ones.
I made a reservation for three and was crystal clear that I needed a quiet table in the corner because I was dining with my elderly father. He is 91 years old. Despite this, we were seated at a cramped table in the middle of the restaurant, directly next to the door, with freezing cold air blowing in from outside.
When I asked to be moved, there was clearly another suitable table available. Instead of making even the smallest accommodation, the host rudely told me that the table was reserved and that I should have requested a different table when I made the reservation. I did request it. Very clearly.
I am sorry, but you rearrange and inconvenience someone else, not a 91-year-old gentleman. The complete lack of consideration and basic decency was shocking. Good food does not excuse this level of disregard, and I will not be returning.
Here’s what they did well….
Polpo (octopus) – exceptional execution and presentation. Prepared tender, with flavorful EVOO, pesto, cannellini beans and artichokes. A touch of citrus brightened the dish.
Linguine Pescatora
Linguini pasta tossed with shrimp, calamari, mussels, & clams in a marinara or garlic white wine sauce. – we had the garlic white wine sauce. Executed perfectly and amplified with a side of crushed pepper and Parmesan to taste.
Needing some help (but by no means complete miss)…
Salmon stuffed with crab meat. This was good but would have benefited from some seasoning and less cook time. Ours was overcooked making the salmon dry and a bit tough. Good concept however. The broccoli rabe was prepared well. Could benefit from blanching a bit longer then sauté to remove the bitterness of the rabe. Citrus can balance it out.
Lastly, the salad we had had both avacado and goat cheese. This amount of concurrent fat overwhelms the delicate flavors of the salad which was a beet salad with greens. Pick one fat. For me that’s the goat cheese in an Italian restaurant.
I will return as they have way more upside and I would love to try other dishes!
