I was reluctant to visit this store because the reviews mentioned broken equipment and unpleasant smells. Sadly this was my experience today. While the lady helping customers was nice, the blender was broken, the place had an unpleasant smell to it, and the ice cream was definitely not as good as my previous visits. Probably gonna cross Rita’s off my list.

Very unfriendly staff. When we entered, someone came from the back and stared at us, without any welcome, and waited for us to order. When I asked what the worker recommended, she replied “probably the Italian ice because that’s what we’re known for.” Not very friendly or helpful. The place also reeked of bleach or some kind of cleaner. We left without purchasing anything because the vibes were just bad.

We went to the Rita’s in Foley, walked in to order there was no one behind the counter, the store smelled like weed. when the lady finally did come my son asked what flavors custard they had instead of telling them she point at the board and said up there.. also according to the website they are open till 10:00 we ordered, my husband and kids sat down to eat their custard while I was paying. She told us the lobby was closed it was 9:39. So we went and sat

Since the favorite location closed near Gulf Shores, we came to Foley looking for you. Rita’s never disappoints and you certainly didn’t tonight. Our only disappointment is the drive is far for an evening frozen treat. We love your delicious products & just wish we could take you back to AR with us.

Well I’m amazed that this place has a 4.4 on reviews. I the young man was nice enough but like most establishments not interested in assisting anyone with help. I advised I had never been there and ask about a specific flavor he said it was alright. No offer of a sample but if I’d of been offered a sample I’d of been afraid to order anything. Tried two flavors both totally disgusting. If blindfolded you couldn’t make out what the mint chip was and the birthday cake was just about as unpleasant. Unless they step up to the plate and fix their issues I would never recommend this place. Buyer be ware and be warned.

1. The place stinks. It’s ice cream and flavored ice, why does this place smell so bad
2. The young man working in there is definitely just sitting on the clock making money. I went in two days ago and he “had a family emergency “ the night before so the soft serve machine was not ready. 2 days later, there is now a broken sign on the machine. I hope Rita is aware that this location is damaging the brand.
