This place is my go-to sit-down Mexican restaurant. Good fresh Mexican food. Amazing salsa and good chips too. Hey the sopes, they’re the best.

Love this restaurant! I come here all the time and the food is amazing! It’s a small restaurant, one dining room, but the food is on parr with large scale establishments while still having that local “mom-&-pop” taste! Can’t recommend this place enough! The prices are AMAZING as well! Very kind owner.

We had a lovely lunch. The food was freshly prepared. The presentation was attractive and the spicing was subtle and tasty.
The service was better than I have had in even some fine dining establishments: attentive, pleasant. Plates were promptly removed, to go boxes provided and beverages refilled.
The restaurant was very clean.
The cook was authentic and skilled. There were vegetable options on the menu. I did not think to confirm if these were vegetarian.
Pricing was very reasonable for what we received. We would definitely return.

For starters I’ve lived in the area for most of my life and yesterday was the first time I’ve heard of La Fogata. We were looking for a “new to us” place and I’m glad we gave it a shot.
Like many Mexican restaurants in the US you start off with chips and salsa, which for me establishes the kitchen’s ability. The salsa was excellent, spicy and flavorful. From then on I knew the entrees would be legit and we were not disappointed in any way. Great, flavorful food with a surprising price point.
From what I saw it appears to be a family run spot so that’s another reason why we’ll be coming back. If you like Lola’s you will be pleased with La Fogata

Had to wait 1hr for food when told 20mins. The food didn’t taste authentic compared to other simular restaurants but was good for what it was. The atmosphere seemed depressing very dark no music.

Great family cooking. Looks like Dad, Mom, and teenage daughter run the show and serve up some delicious food. Friendly, prompt, and tasty. Their salsa is probably the best we have had in Lynchburg!

Food was delicious. Nice relaxing atmosphere without the loud Mariachi music. Food was freshly cooked, promptly served and nicely plated. Plan to go back often.

We were looking for a place to eat on Cinco de Mayo and landed on giving La Fogata a try. And we weren’t disappointed! The food was great and the drinks were just as good. The fajitas came out sizzling and the tortillas were some of the best I’ve had. I will definitely be going back the next time I’m in town.

We had a great dinner. The food was delicious, the prices were good and my frozen peach margarita was exceptional. They put a heart on top! The food arrived sizzling. You could see the steam rising from the plate. Its a nice family atmosphere, too. Highly recommend.
