Nice atmosphere, great service, some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had, and the food was out of this world. Highly recommend!!

We had the ox cheek over bone marrow as a starter. For entres we had the venison loin over mashed with bourbon glazed carrots and a crusted pork belly over sweet potato puree. Drinks we enjoyed were a amaretto sour, classic negroni, black cherry manhattan, and a kings old fashioned. YUM!

We had a lovely dinner here. Easy to book a table online, Lauren was a gem, quick service, answered any questions we had with the food – an asset to the team 🙂

Between the 4 of us we ordered a good selection of the new menu – scallops, the padron peppers, langoustines, nduja & hot honey Mac and cheese (pleasantly delighted by this combo!), half lobster, catch of the day (sea bass with skinny fries), beef dripping chips and a chateaubriand with cowboy butter (yum) along with a glass of red, margarita & 2 cokes – came to about £65 pp – all well cooked – couldn’t fault the flavour parings, we really enjoyed it!

Nice atmosphere for our once in a while treat.

Highly recommend! I had an amazing lunch with my family there yesterday for celebrating our 10 years anniversary. I enjoyed the Lobster and the cocktail very much! Fresh and testy! And very welcoming service as well.

Had an early dinner before Ieaving St Andrew.
They are first class!
The staff were friendly and attentive. Foods were amazing, probably the best burger I ever had, juicy and crispy, and the truffle fries were tasty. Totally worth the price!

Wow. The food here is really great. We ordered crab cakes, charcuterie board, kids steak and chips, a ribeye, and the pork belly. We’ve traveled all over Scotland and so far this is the THE BEST steak we’ve had. It was seasoned and cooked beautifully! I got the pork belly and that needed more seasoning, but everything else was amazing! Our server was really nice and did a great job, also! We’ll definitely be back.

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday and had a wonderful time. We were looked after by Emily, who was fantastic; super friendly and attentive. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful throughout the evening. We ordered the porterhouse sharing steak, which, while on the pricey side, was cooked and seasoned perfectly and well worth it. Portion sizes were generous, and the ambience was a great balance between upscale and relaxed. Would definitely recommend to others.

Wonderfully relaxed and uncomplicated – yet with excellent food and super friendly service.
We had dreamlike steaks, grilled fresh fish and mussels. Lots of young people (students?) take care of the guests in a very charming way. A great combination of high‑quality food in a laid‑back atmosphere.

We were excited to try Rouge, so we headed to the restaurant around noon on a Wednesday. For the first hour, we were the only table of two in the place. It took some time for the first item—the soup—to arrive. The red pepper soup was hot and flavorful, but at £7 for a small bowl, it came with just a slice of cold bread, which felt underwhelming.

After finishing the soup, we had another wait before lunch was served. I ordered the fish and chips, which were tasty, while my friend opted for the pork belly. While beautifully presented, the pork belly fell short on flavor and was just okay.

On a positive note, we really liked the restaurant’s interior decor—it had a charming and inviting atmosphere. Hopefully, the food improves on our next visit, as we’re keen to give it another try!

Bang average, expensive, poor service.
For the price, and the advertising, this place should be seafood heaven. But, despite the location on the east coast of Scotland, with access to an abundance of amazing produce, all you can really get is oysters (fine but small), scallops, catch of the day and langastines..oh and ‘fish and chips’. Catch of the day was sea bass…I’m no fisherman but highly caught it was caught today in Scotland and likely gane from Greece or Turkey. Why, when we have great fish here? Also, £30 including chips and salad – normally that would be £20-£25 most other places. Langastines (6) with chips and salad were £38 – that is just silly. That would be £28- £33 (max) anywhere else.
Starts arrived before drinks, we had to remind them we’d ordered drinks. 15 minutes for one to arrive, then told the other wasnt available. Another 5 mins for the alternative to arrive. Just lackluster, expensive and very very underwhelming.

Overall it was ok. We went for dinner and when we sat down were informed quite a lot of the menu wasn’t available because it was Sunday and they were running low… The mussels for starter were a huge portion but the sauce didn’t taste of much. The lamb for main was nice but not worth £32. It was also pretty cold in the restaurant, overall, there are better restaurants in the price point in st Andrews.
