The food is always fresh.
The burritos are massive. Depending on who makes it, you can literally feed two people.
You can request to order to have cheese, sour cream, rice, guacamole etc…
Favorite is chicken, with rice, cheese, and sour cream.
I have tried various version of these chains, this location beats them all.
I honestly believe that because it’s near the back gate of Camp Pendleton, it gets so many customers is the reason the food is fresh.
I’ve lived here since 1985, and I remember when this place meant something. Back when it was called Roberto’s… or was it Eriberto’s? It even used to sit proudly next to El Pollo Loco. It was the kind of spot you could get a burrito the size of your arm. It had soul. It had flavor. It had authenticity.
Now? It’s a hollow, money-grabbing shell of what it used to be.
The burrito I got today looked like a constipated taquito — limp, sad, and barely filled. They’re charging outrageous prices for what amounts to one-third of the portions they used to serve. And for what? To cash in on the poor Marines stationed nearby who don’t know any better. It’s exploitation disguised as tradition.
This place has completely abandoned any sense of heritage or pride in its food. It’s just another soulless fast-food stop pretending to care about Mexican cuisine. There’s no love in the food, no culture in the cooking — just dollar signs in their eyes.
If you ever had fond memories of this place growing up, do yourself a favor and skip it. The disappointment hits harder than the food ever could.
I came here out of convenience because it’s close. I stopped coming here a year ago I don’t know why I came again today.
They’re not real friendly in there, I had to ask three times for the hot sauce I wanted.
And then this Bean tostada is just… Terrible.
I’ll just go the extra quarter mile from now on to Alberto’s.
I know better. This Bean tostada is actually my fault.
I’ll never come here again.
So I close by so went to go ask for a receipt (17.81) including Taxes. I just wanna if this has happened to others. If so . This not okay
If your favorite Mexican place is Chipotle you won’t appreciate this gem.
