Went for a Friday Night Fish Fry and it was excellent! Local whitefish and onion rings! Salad was not the best, but greens were fresh and it did the trick. Great beverage selection and fun vibe. Very lively and loud. Friendly service, but not terribly effective. Definitely the weak link. With that, highly recommended.

Stumbled on this place looking for dinner. Seated fairly quickly, but took a bit longer than normal to get drinks and then food. Our server was super friendly and comical. Usual bar atmosphere. Lots of TVs and locals at the bar. Food was so surprisingly amazing! Expected normal bar food, and this far exceeded that! We had chicken and wild rice soup, Reuben, and 12 pepper butter burger. Served with fries and were homemade and hand cut… everything was delicious! Would ABSOLUTELY recommend and will come back!

This is a very good place. My burger was ok, maybe a little burned. My wife’s white wish was fantastic in size and delicious as well. We recommend to order extra side for the main dish.

On a recent stay in Ellison Bay my wife, brother-in-law, his wife, and myself stopped in the Mink River Basin for dinner. My initial impression was this is a popular spot with locals, and that notion was confirmed by our waitress. The menu is sports bar fare, but broad enough to satisfy most tastes. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were refreshed and the food was to our liking. I had the chicken salad, which was generous in portion. The others had the cheeseburger, Door County whitefish sandwich, and corned beef Reuben sandwich, each served with fries. Everyone was satisfied with their order, commenting on the good flavor of the food. My wife’s fries were among the best I’ve ever sampled. If you’re looking for a friendly spot with good food in northern Door County, you won’t be disappointed with Mink River Basin.

Large bar area to the left and restaurant area to the right. Friendly greeting at the door and seated promptly.
Plenty of windows and TVs. The atmosphere is lively and noise level is moderate to loud.

We had some great food. Grilled Cajun fish sandwich and hot chicken sandwich. The bartenders were kind and our food came out quickly.
They do have a dog friendly patio, but we took it to go and ate at Wills Park and ate by the water.

We came for lunch and ate on the outdoor patio. We had our dog with us. We were seated immediately. Dog was given pets and water immediately. Super friendly and quick servers. Had the white fish Ruben. It was Super filling. Excellent sandwich. Took some home. Great little place.

Great place! Had never been here before and decided to give it a try. Based on the recommendation of our server, I tried the chicken tender basket and they were some of the best tenders I’ve ever had! My mom got the Wiscuban and she said it was amazing. The pork was so tender–it wasn’t greasy, and great smoky flavor without being sauced/seasoned. Really pulled it all together.
The only things that weren’t amazing was the soup (it was good, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t what I was expecting… if it’s a chowder, shouldn’t it be creamy? This was just fish soup–and not worth the $4 upgrade cost to replace the fries) and the coleslaw had zero flavor (it was dry, and unseasoned… not sure what it was trying to be, but it wasn’t coleslaw by any means). But those are minor compared to the main dishes and the great service so it’s still a 5-star place!
