This place is a hidden gem. The location gets overlooked and when you walk inside, nothing to be excited about but just give it a chance. Drink and food specials posted by the door. Drinks are cheap but don’t lack quality! Pasta dishes are huge and creamy. Crab claws are plentiful! Seafood tastes fresh

We was passing through and looked up a place to eat some seafood and we also seen the sign on the interstate. The greeter and waitress was great our 1st time there. The food was excellent and we even left a souvenir dollar signed with our names on the wall. We can’t wait to come back again..

Haven’t been here for a while… But when we want seafood this is one we go to when in the area.. great place, quiet.the crab meat au gratin is the best !!! Oysters are a boom.. soft shell crab and pasta no words for it. ??? So hopefully y’all will enjoy it too!!

If you’re looking for the perfect place to dine in or take out, that has awesome food including wonderful service, then look no futher because Vera’s is your place. There was a party going on in the bar area and they were all having a great time. I love the fried catfish and their roast beef poboys. The menu has so many old time favorites for you to choose from. Wonderful authentic seafood restaurant in Slidell. Great owners! Fantastic staff. Speckled trout was awesome. Soft shells off the chain. Their gumbo is great! Dinner was so good, we had to come back Saturday for Po’ Boys. Ordered the famous roast beef and fried shrimp. Po’ Boys were fresh and delicious.

This place gets such high praise online so when I happened to be in Slidell, I had to try it! First impression was good. Service was excellent. Bloody Mary, bland. Crab fingers, bland. Gumbo, bland. Seafood platter, bland. Hush puppies, dry. Is all this lack of flavor bc Wednesday is Senior night and alot of elderly are on restricted diets or can’t tolerate spice or salt???? Idk but my experience did not live up to the hype!!

Visited this place for the first time looking for some good seafood. Ordered the blackened catfish/shrimp at the recommendation of my server to my dismay. The blackened catfish was bland and had hardly any blackened seasoning. The side choices were limited to fried items and salad, so I asked for a side of rice and the hush puppies. Hush puppies were some of the best I’ve ever eaten for sure. I thought I’d be adventurous and order a pina colada and was disappointed. Stick to the non frozen drinks here or else you end up with a drink too watery or too frozen to drink. I did order some cheese fries to go and some wings which were delicious and crispy. It seems they really have a knack for cooking the fried items, and not so much the grilled ones. By the way, I wish I got my servers name because she was awesome, prompt, and sweet and made the experience enjoyable.

Stopped in here to check it out because of the name. Since we too are “Vera’s” and we love seafood. Started with the gator sausage, and onion rings. Both were good, but nothing we would ever need to have more than once. Dinner will have you coming back again and again though. We all ordered something different and then tasted them all. Every item was delicious, a symphony of flavors in every bite! Servings are generous, none of us were able to eat all our meal, which was sad because we are traveling so there’s no way to take it home for tomorrow. I was thrilled they had some shirts for us to buy and take home to the hubby since he didn’t make this trip with us. Staff was mostly young girls, friendly but not over the top like some places. It’s a nice laid back place to stop in, relax, eat… hang a dollar on the wall and move on down the road.

Normally 5 star. My Ribeye was average. I didn’t order seafood yesterday (Thursday) as the next day was Friday and it’s Lent. I should have ordered the fried chicken. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t nasty, just average flavor with a little bit too much gristle. Temp was on point. Everything else was amazing as usual! W long time customer, just wanted to try something different. I ate it all. It was good, but compared to their seafood and chicken, it was Meh. I still highly recommend this establishment. BTW, the bread pudding was ecstatic! Never had it with grilled(roasted maybe) Pineapple before. I ate every last drop. Service was top notch.
