I feel bad for the black employee because she is having to work in a hostile environment, she continued to smile & do her job with professionalism & I commend her for that. The white employee was rude, unprofessional & management should review the security footage. & take appropriate action as this employee is a poor reflection on your business!!!
I have a severe dairy allergy and have eaten at Subway many times before without issues because the staff at other locations are always more than happy to accommodate my needs. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the [insert location here] was extremely disappointing and concerning.
When I explained that I needed fresh turkey and lettuce due to cross-contamination with cheese, the employees were rude and dismissive. In my frustration, I may not recall their exact wording, but here are examples of what was said to me: one employee said something like, “It’s not brown, what’s the problem?” — ignoring the fact that my allergy has nothing to do with spoiled food. Another brushed me off with a comment along the lines of, “There’s not gonna be cheese in lettuce,” showing a complete lack of understanding about cross-contamination. I calmly explained that I could literally die if cheese touches my food, and I was still met with eye-rolls and unhelpful attitudes. Another staff member added something close to, “Well you got your food so idk why you’re still going.”
A food allergy is not something I can help — and I should not be treated differently or discriminated against because of it. I understand that my allergy is severe, but if every other Subway location can handle this without issue, there is no reason why this store should refuse.
Food allergies are life-threatening, and it is unacceptable for staff to dismiss or mock them. If anyone knows who the owner or manager of this location is, please let me know so I can file a formal complaint. Until then, I highly recommend avoiding this location if you or someone you love has food allergies. Your safety is not taken seriously here.
