At our Oneonta, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I come in today with family the food was fine but this place has a serious problem with management. Her name is jennifer. I have never in my life heard any manager talk to their employees the way this one does. It was disgusting to hear how she spoke to her workers. This is a problem. I also over heard that this manager employees has hidden camera in the bathrooms and this is unethical and unexceptable. Her behavior is out of this world and dont know what struggles she may endure but there is no excuse to talk to her employees the way she does. Someone needs to fire this person immediately.

This was the last straw for our family. We will officially never be coming back. I have never once left a negative review to any restaurant and I never even bring anything up inside stores when something doesn’t go right. I usually give the employees the benefit of the doubt and say well maybe next time things will be better. Tonight we came in late (9pm ) and hungry after soccer games. We ordered drinks knowing that we their ice machine in the lobby has been broken for at least a year and their drinks haven’t been calibrated probably longer because they never taste right. I sat down saying ” at least I will feel better about their drinks being nasty once I get some fish.” 10 minutes later or so we get our food. We pass everyone’s food around the table and I noticed the fish batter is darker than usual on the outside and I’m like okay fine, it’s late and I’m sure the fryer has fried fish all day long. I bite into mine and it’s darker inside as well but I thought maybe is the whole fryer issue.. By the time I have eaten half my fish I realized its not just the color. It’s the texture and the smell. The fish is obviously bad . I then compared it with the other fish on our table and everyone elses fish is white on the inside like it’s supposed to be. I then talk to several employees about this and each one pointed me straight to the manger. I didn’t get her name. I told her what was going on and she said “well it’s not raw or it would be pink, do you want another piece?” I’m like okay well there’s an obvious issue with this fish and honestly not I’m not up for any more fish tonight I’m pretty grossed out . I ask if are there any options for a refund ? She said ” no because you ate the fish.” At this point she’s just being rude like I’m the problem. Like of course I started eating it because you don’t know what’s wrong with that kind of fish from the outside looks only! This manager couldn’t even offer me an apology or admit this fish looked visibly bad. I may never get my refund or go back again and maybe they don’t have a good plan to help their customers with issues like this. But I hope I can get this message on to whoever is in control of this store because they never improved their service. As bad as each service has been for us in the past year, we have kept going thinking they will improve in some way. At the beginning of this visit whenever we ordered the girl told us about the ice machine being broke. I said ” do you know if there are future plans to have it fixed? ” She said “I don’t know ” it’s been that way at least my time working here” I know for a fact that’s at least a year. Whoever is in control of these issues, please fix them.

Stopped in for lunch. Service was quick, that was a mistake. The “giant” fish sandwhich, my husbands usual favorite, the fish was literally 2 fish sticks, undercooked and cold in the middle. The fries were oily and cold. After a few bites into the sandwhich, and a few fries, we threw our food away. Now he is nauseated. We will not be visiting the Captain D’s in Oneonta, Al ever again.

Ordered a fish meal sandwich and fries The lettuce is literally rotten. Green is slime rest is dried leaves. Alright Captain D’s I don’t think I have ever complained, but I’m going to today. I ordered a 3 piece fish with coleslaw and green beans. I got home and opened up my container to see approximately 12 green beans. I usually love them, but besides the small serving they taste like they were from last weeks batch. They were absolutely disgusting. I immediately spat them out. Maybe I should be thankful there were only 12. I have no complaints with the service. Update: I have been nauseous since eating some of my fish, a bite of a hush puppy, and 1 green bean! I can’t describe how horrible the green beans were. There’s no excuse for not taking some pride in a job that you’re getting paid for especially working with fish products. I wasn’t mad until I started feeling sick!

Would not give. 1 if I didn’t have to!!! Paid over $60 for 3 deluxe seafood platters 2 cheese cakes and an order of jalapeño poppers and dint not get hush puppies on mine and my friend dint have but 1 on his! When I called the woman said well if you want I can give you 5 hush puppies tomorrow unless you want to come back, I politely said no thank you I just won’t do anymore business there!! She said well ok

Worst service! My food was not right. When I told her when she brought the food she said yes it is the batter is just a little thicker.. we were missing part of my sons meal that had to be cooked we ordered it all together. Then the employees started talking from the door to behind the counter about another employee who didn’t do what he was suppose to do and was allowed to leave. This is unacceptable in a place of business. We will not be visiting this location again.
