A lovely spot for dinner, drinks, or both. The staff is very friendly at the location, they speak Portuguese and English. We were able to order one meal for two, and split. Portion sizes are big and the taste is so flavorful. They have a lot of seating indoors and also outdoors. We will be back!

This place needs to figure out its identity crisis before it tries to serve people again. It is not sure if it is a sports bar or a high-end Italian restaurant. $60 for a veal dinner to have a rowdy, raucous bar 6′ away from you, screaming at a touchdown. On top of that, the only thing that surpassed the dusty taste of their “daily special” risotto e funghi was the art of the pig joining us for dinner. The gentleman host was great, but our server came to our table unprepared, and forgot to serve our drinks (we ordered them with the appetizer but didn’t get them until we asked the host to check on them as he brought our entree). Portion size is laughable – you’ll go home hungry and $120 light (If you remember to check your receipt to make sure they didn’t double charge you like they did us for our drinks when we didn’t receive the first round). Atmospherically not a high end place; I think the vibe is meant to be boho but doesn’t hit the mark at all… It looks clashed and cluttered, and its aforementioned sports bar clientele led to two patrons nearly getting into a fight right before we left. Not the classy establishment we wanted for our anniversary dinner or that one would assume this place to be for the price point.

My one good word about this place: the penne with artichokes was lovely.

A great meal in a relaxing atmosphere. I suspect it is very different in summer. Regardless, the food is outstanding and the service is kind. It was a little off putting at first to go out for a nice meal and see TVs and OTB in the bar area, but I just chalk it up to the relaxed, neighborhood vibe. We will be back!

Shrimp scampi has been added to the menu. It was delicious. Served over angel hair pasta. Seems Shrimp Scampi is never on the menu anywhere in Saratoga Springs. It’s a favorite of mine. I hope it stays! We also loved the pizza fondu served hot in a small cast iron pan. Will order that again.

We found this restaurant online after leaving the Saratoga Casino looking for good Italian food and a great atmosphere. Taverna Novo had both. The food was excellent and made of great quality, the place has an awesome vibe and our waitress was fantastic filling in while the owners were on vacation. We will be back soon!!!

Great little local Italian spot in a quiet neighborhood just west of downtown. We stopped in and sat at the bar for a quick bite to eat. The food was good. The service was unbelievably quick!!
Looking around at some of the meals on the other tables, the pizza looked good as well. Looking forward to stopping in again next time in town.

Absolute gem for food, bar & atmosphere. Book a table. Go. Or better yet don’t go! More room for me at this boutique restaurant that is a bastion of deliciousness amidst the touristy options. Saratoga is lucky to have this authentic Italian restaurant to enjoy.

A highly recommended Italian restaurant in a quiet neighborhood of Saratoga. I’m so glad we checked this place out. Their outdoor patio is beautiful lit with plenty of shade. We order two pizzas to share and it was just enough for 4 people. I’m looking forward to going back and trying other dishes on their menu.

Last weekend, the hubby and I joined a couple of friends for dinner Saturday night at Taverna Novo.
First note, this is a small space – reservations highly recommended! I emailed them early in the week and was lucky to score a table for 4 close to the time I wanted.

We had a fabulous experience- the food, service, and overall environment combined to make for a terrific and fun night out.

Bread service with dipping oil is the start of the evening. We followed this with appetizers – stuffed mushrooms, short rib ravioli, and a special appetizer of the evening – a burrata dish with crostini. The others reported that the mushrooms were delicious and I can vouch for the ravioli- a very large portion of 8 or 9 good sized pieces filled with tender short rib and covered in braised mushrooms and a pan sauce. Highly recommend! Burrata was also yummy. Caesar salad was huge – enough for us all to have some.

Next were our entrees – one wood fired pizza, one eggplant parm, and one bucatini amatriciana. The meatlover pizza was good, nothing over the top, but good. Eggplant parm was very good; served with a side of pasta, both topped with a thick and delicious homemade marinara sauce. Huge portion that came home. The bucatini was also said to be awesome – good to the last drop! Well flavored and another large portion. Potatoes ordered as a side were simple but delicious. Highly recommend.

We ordered 2 portions of the specialty dessert – an Irish bread pudding. There are no words for how good this was. We were told it usually runs out quickly. I only wish I had ordered my own instead of agreeing to share with the hubby.

Make your reservations ASAP!!

Food is amazing!! If you are in the Saratoga Springs area this an a must try. Warm olives , roasted beet salad, pasta bolognese sauce (best I have ever had), risotto with butternut squash and Italian sausage were all to die for. Super accommodating for gluten free needs. They even had gluten free bread and pasta.
