The vibe was great. The server had the entire room so it took a while to check on us. By the time he returned my cold fries were already past the point of just heat them a bit. The Hennessy Wings were very heavy and tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce. The Mac n cheese was very, very dry and flavorless. The fish and shrimp were fine.

Owners daughter made our first time visit better after I requested a different table. The gentleman at the door, greeted very welcoming also. We also enjoyed the bday event vibe with the games in the room, looked like a lot of fun. But the food, sorry, almost everything was way over salted. We couldn’t finish our food. My favorite that wasn’t over salted was the fish. But, the fries, Rasta pasta and oyster was over seasoned and over salted. Thank you for allowing the review and comments.

Excellent food, excellent staff, everything excellent. We came here for my God mom’s bday and though they were closing they still accommodated us. The food is EXCELLENT!!! My favorite was the red beans and rice. 10/10 would highly recommend. Lamb chops were so tender, smothered turkey with the gravy!!!! Everything was wonderful

Ys Choice Food did not disappoint! I ordered the catfish with cheese grits and WOW the flavors were absolutely amazing. The catfish was perfectly seasoned with a crisp that was everything… golden, crunchy, and cooked to perfection. The cheese grits were rich, creamy, and paired so well with the fish that every bite hit just right.
On top of the food, the vibe of the restaurant was on point. Great energy, welcoming atmosphere, and a place that just makes you want to sit back, enjoy your meal, and soak it all in. Ys Choice Food is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to amazing food, great vibes, and a full experience all around.

My family and I ate here for my birthday yesterday, and it was a fantastic experience! I ordered chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and yams. The tenders were tender, excellently seasoned, and they weren’t dry in the slightest. The mac and cheese was very tasty; not overly cheesy either; although the cheese pull with every forkful was quite satisfying. The yams were also seasoned well, and they sweetly melted in my mouth with every bite!
The portion size was also very nice, as I was very much satisfied with the amount of food that I received. To top of off, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
The vibe was perfect, and I’m so happy that I spent my birthday here! My only regret is that I didn’t hear about this place sooner. Thank you everyone for providing my family and I a great time in a comforting space ☺️

I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE!! The owner standing at the door with a nasty attitude on a busy Saturday night because of a previous table that had just left and she had a problem with, didn’t greet us. Instead stood near our table once we were seated, ease dropping on our conversation. Kept making excuses as to why the service was so poor, why the menu was printed wrong, why the kitchen couldn’t get food out to tables in less than an hr. Instead of helping her over worked kitchen staff, she’s at the host stand with a nasty attitude because it’s a constant repeat of people complaining about the poor service and nasty salty food. This Mac n cheese was so dry, it was like it was sitting all day long but it still took a hr to come out. The turkey gravy tasted like water, the green beans was the best thing on the plate. This place needs to be shut down. The lack of hospitality is unacceptable! People come because they try to support a black owned business but this owner gets no sympathy for the way she talks to customers because she doesn’t know how to run a restaurant.

You all need to go check this place out!!! I have been craving fried chicken and oxtails for a while now and I finally got what I needed!!! Everything was so on point!!! Full of flavor and cooked to perfection!!! It’s my cousin’s birthday coming up and I’m an order a tray of the oxtail for his party!!! Great job Y and staff!!! I’ll definitely be back!!!

Had brunch/ lunch here today. We ate a little bit of everything. The service was spectacular and I would highly recommend every dish! The owner was super accommodating and our waitress, the owners daughter, was attentive and professional. We’ll definitely be coming back.

The food was awesome I had the oxtails, and if I tell you I was dancing in my seat and humming the whole time. If your a foodie like myself your going to love this place, so be ready to make plenty of returns like I’m going to because I need to try everything on the menu. Now the wait staff might need a bit of training on how to handle the patrons in order to get better tips. We were paying our tab and I asked our server her name, and realized she never introduced herself. But all-in-all it was an awesome first visit, I will be back.
