This is a little gem in Pendleton. Our server Tom and staff were excellent. From our greeting into the restaurant all the way to dessert, it was amazing. The food, drinks, and dessert were top notch. Can’t wait to come back!!!

1826 Bistro is a fine dining, casual boutique restaurant in a rather unlikely place, downtown Pendleton. I deferred writing a review after my initial visit, because I frankly, because our experience was so good, I thought it must be a one-off. But that was not the case. Our second visit was just as good as the first.
The menu here is always changing, but I feel comfortable saying that you will be pleased with whatever your order. Every sauce from appetizer to desert is prepared to perfection, perfectly complimenting the food it enhances.
There is a lovely outside seating area that is dog friendly with well spaced tables. The inside is quite small.
If there is only one thing to be critical of is that there are a lot of yellow jackets around while we were eating. I think a few yellow jacket traps might mitigate the issue.
Still overall, an excellent experience in great dining.

Before we sat down the restaurant felt cozy and comfortable, because it has only a dozen tables seating a grand total of about 30 people. Secondly, the sun streamed through the abundant windows around three sides of the dining area. Finally, the food is farm-to-table top notch. The chef recommends a red and white wine to pair with your meal. All is Devine! Once we told the waiter that we were visiting from Aiken, he told us that the chef is from Aiken. I shamelessly begged him to return.

Our party of four had an absolutely fabulous meal from start to finish. All of the dishes AND drinks were well thought out, nicely presented, and of high quality. The menu is just the right size, with wonderful options that made choosing difficult, but not so large that quality and attention to detail gets lost. The atmosphere was comfortable yet classy, and service was great. In a time where restaurants are often disappointing, 1826 is a breath of fresh air. Highly, highly recommend! The restaurant is located at the center of Pendleton which makes it easy to locate. There is plenty of parking around the area. The restaurant itself is small but welcoming. Plenty of seating inside as well as outside. The service should definitely be improved, the server was helpful, but seem rushed at taking orders. When it came to serving food, one sever spilled olive oil on one of the people in our table, another one spilled food on me while serving the food. This definitely needs to be improved as they ruined clothes with the spilling. They did apologize, but didn’t offer to provide reimbursement of any kind. When it comes the food, it was good but nothing out of the ordinary, to be honest overpriced and overhyped. Overall, would not recommend this restaurant.

Another incredible night at this gem of a restaurant in Pendleton. Could not decide between shrimp and mussels in Asian style broth with baby bok choy, and the wild mushrooms and ricotta dumplings so we had both and shared them. Divine!

Amazing food, service and ambiance! We enjoyed the most delicious food from the house cocktails, fresh bread, salad, mouth watering entrees and scrumptious dessert. Love that the menus change so always new options are available on our next visit. Christian took such great care of us. Meeting Chef Andrew was the icing on the cake

Best meal that I have had in months! I had the local trout with lentils, asparagus, and I think a cauliflower purée. Every bite was delicious. The restaurant is located in an historic building in the Pendleton town green. I can’t comment about the desserts because we decided to walk across the street to Mama Rae’s ice cream shop for some of the best ice cream for miles around. Even better than Hansel’s Homemade in Clemson.

Our favorite upstate restaurant. Never had a meal that was less than outstanding. The creativity and execution of all menu items is remarkable. New menu items with local farm items are featured along with perfect complementary sauces and side items. If you haven’t tried it, go! Justin and Andrew know how to offer a perfect meal…

I cannot recommend this place enough. I have lived a lot of different places and had the pleasure of tasting a lot of different food, but I swear this restaurant may be the best I’ve ever had. And it’s consistent. Every time I go in there, I am amazed by the meal and the service.
