Aloha all; this spot is a must when on Oahu! I am very impressed with the flavors and how much better they are than so many other Chinese style places. But I also love great soup dumplings and I think they have the best in Hawaii. You must try it. When you’re in the area stop by and just get soup dumplings and leave…. So yummy

We ordered this place for pickup and let me say it was still delish!
From the recommendations of others, we got Garlic String Beans, Orange Beef, & Mongolian Beef. All of them were delish except the Mongolian Beef was meh. The String Beans were soooo good! The Orange Beef was amazing! I wasn’t expecting the quality to be as good but it was, even for pickup! This has been the best Chinese place we’ve found so far, but we definitely need to try it again!

Really good Taiwanese style beef noodle soup- tasted like home to me! Portions are great. We shared the noodle soup plus white rice and tasty Mongolian beef. Servers are so friendly but sometimes the language barrier can cause order mixups, so it’s best if you’re patient or can speak Mandarin Chinese 🙂 looking forward to trying lots else on their menu!

I was invited to go to Dew Drop Inn for dinner and all I can say is wow. I have never tried this place before and it really was great.
Let’s start off with the food. This is Northern Chinese cuisine so it’s not like the traditional Cantonese food you see around town. I don’t get to eat this style of cuisine very often so I truly enjoyed it. The dumplings and pork chops were some of my favorite items. They also allow for BYOB which is great.
The restaurant is rather small so if you have a big party I would recommend that you call in advance to get seating. If not, you may not be able to find a spot or have to wait to be seated.
The service here is great and the staff is very friendly.
I wish I knew about this place sooner. If you are looking for a new spot to try then give this place a shot.

My parents found this place making some foods we weren’t able to find since the only place in the Chinese cultural plaza closed down years ago. Call early and make an appointment. They were booked like crazy. We got real lucky and they said if we got there when they opened they could squeeze us in before all the big reservations started.
This is a real local mom and pop kind of restaurant. So please treat them nice and be pleasant. They appear to be understaffed with the amount of people they cram in there. When the reservations started coming it was non stop and they were full up. A very popular place for a Monday.
The food is great. Lots of flavor and spice but not crazy spicy like you hear about northern Chinese foods in China.
The sticky rice roll and the bread pockets you fill with the meat filling were both what we missed and stand outs. The beef noodle soups and hot/sour soups were right behind it in rankings for us.
If you can get a reservation we highly recommend trying this place! Pricing is a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants BUT the serving sizes appear to be more family sized so you definitely get your money’s worth in our opinion.

My current favorite restaurant in Honolulu. I recommend the beef tendon, orange chicken, and spicy wonton but everything we’ve tried has been fantastic. The service is always great and it’s a very cozy spot.

Joined a group of Yelpers for an annual Chinese New Year celebration at this local favorite, and once again the food did not disappoint. Seven courses in all, ending with a warm sesame mochi ball that I’d come back for any day.
Parking is tiny, and you may get stuck in the line for Chick fil A just a few yards past the restaurant – best bet is street parking on the other side of Beretania.

We waited outside for a long time (an hour) even though we were on the list, and another customer had to tell the staff there were empty tables and that our family was still waiting. The young lady who took our order didn’t seem to know customer service or probably get upset when other customer had to tell a family are still waiting outside she seems unfriendly or unhappy . Two of the dishes were okay, but the fried breaded fish tasted so off that I almost thought it had mold from how it looked. We’ve had way better Chinese food elsewhere, we only tried this place because of the good reviews. Maybe it was a bad day, but either way, I’m not coming back. Definitely not worth the hype.

I remember going to this restaurant thirty years ago as a child of about seven with my dad. I remember it being small, but cozy and two older, silver haired aunties working inside. I confess, I wasn’t a picky child and liked everything that I ate here, especially the steamed rice. Having found it still open and in the same location I had to try it with my wife. We arrived at the perfect time to find a parking spot and went inside to be greeted be two older aunties, not quite silver haired. One took our party size and we were sat within moments. I remember seeing a chef on the menu and looking through the pages. After a few minutes we ordered the house fried rice, shrimp and pork spicy sauce wonton, and the shrimp and pork pot sticker. Unfortunately, of the three, my wife and I only liked the house fried rice. The wontons had a healthy dose of cilantro in each and as a garnish overpowering the dish. The potstickers would have been good, but the sauce at table side was heavy with toasted sesame. This may have been my fault as a lack of understanding on my part, but it killed the flavor unfortunately. It was a good memory relived, but I may prefer going to a more well understood dining experience.
