I celebrated my mother’s 85 birthday at La Nonna Bella, and it was fabulous! I reserved bar room that accommodated forty guests. The owners, Lino and Erika went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The table settings accomodated guests comfortably, and the servers headed by Miguel were awesome…very friendly and polite. The food menu arranged for the party was exquisite! Every table was served starters that included fried zucchini, calamari, eggplant rolatini and claims…beyond delicious! Followed by pasta dish of penne alla vodka…incredible! The guests had a choice of lamb, bass or chicken for the main course…I chose the bass and it was amazing! The guests raved about the other dishes as well. The last course was a variety of decadent desserts served to every table. La Nonna Bella embodies authentic Italian food..if you haven’t dined at this restaurant you are missing out.

I have been coming here since 2011 – that says it all. This place is like stepping into Italy from the first bite. Lino elevates Italian cuisine, staying true to his roots; his restaurant is phenomenal. The Cavatelli Conversanase is one of my favorites, and I’ve never had anything like it anywhere else. Honestly, I’ve worked my way through his entire menu – it is all impeccable from start to finish; there are also daily specials using the freshest ingredients. Lino is a true culinary talent and is also just the sweetest person – he often comes out to greet diners whether it’s their first time or thousandth time. The service is also always excellent – waiters are always very professional and attentive. I can’t say enough about La Nonna Bella – I’m addicted. Try it and you will be too.

La Nonna Bella is top notch. It is the number one Italian restaurant in garden city. You need to come here! The sauces are delicious! We ordered the spaghetti with tuna, the lobster and linguini special and the special appetizer, which was shrimp stuffed with crab meat. Miguel is the best server and so memorable! Lino- the chef is outstanding! He came to our table and was so genuine and nice! The food is classic Bari cuisine. Lino and the whole staff do an amazing job. Food is really the best.

Christmas time is always crowded for a restaurant.
But I did enjoy a little the Osobuco dish.
Waiter was very very busy. Seems not many waiters that night.

La Nonna Bella is like taking a trip to Europe and experiencing the fine dining of Italy, right in the comfort of Long Island. I came in to try out chef tasting meal and was absolutely blown away! The portions and variety that you receive are astonishing…I am still dreaming about it! As a note: The restaurant allows only 2-hour dining, however, they make sure your mealtime (even the large chef tasting) fits inside the 2-hour time limit. Incredible!

Now let’s talk about food! Here were my absolute FAVORITE dishes I tried that night:

Antipasto:
– Cozze Al Pesto
-Mozzarella Di Buffalo e Burrata

Dinner
– You NEED to try the Risotto Ai Porcini imported porcini mushrooms. Period.
-Spaghetti Cacio Pepe

Dessert:
-Banana Cream Tart
-Panna Cotta

In all honesty, you really can’t go wrong with any of the food here. Along with the great food, the service is absolutely top-notch! Eria and Chef Lino are the most down-to-earth people I have met in a while.

2 Words: Come. Hungry.

Update: we ate here for my birthday recently. I’m updating because they obviously changed their policy and were very clear about the choices of what to drink, unlike the last time we went there. I would give them five stars for that change alone. We had an excellent meal. We started with an eggplant appetizer, really good. This time I ordered the salad, forget the name, but the one with dried fruit and nuts etc and it was absolutely delicious. We shared a chicken marinara dish as well a pasta dish with eggplant. All were excellent. We were unfortunately too full for dessert, which was actually too bad because I remember the chocolate dessert as being great. Below is my review from a year or two ago:
We randomly chose to try this restaurant and I loved it. The food and atmosphere were excellent. We had the chicken parm and the rigatoni and some chocolate desert, all of which were really excellent. It had a very authentic Italian atmosphere.

My only negatives were that I found it a bit pricey. Also when I sat down we were offered a choice of flat or sparkling water. Perhaps I should have known, but I chose the flat and was surprised there was a $10 charge per bottle. Not that that’s expensive these days, but I felt we should have been told that at the start and not surprised by it on the bill. I do plan to go back though. Maybe for special occasions. Great food-

Chef Lino as always was on point with his unique specials like his homemade lobster ravioli with sea urchin, stuffed mussels with crab meat and his stuffed zucchini blossoms. Not to mention the equally amazing bronzino, pasta and banana cream tart were also home runs! Great job as always Pasqualino!

It must have been an off night because everyone in our party thought the food was just okay. Pasta was way undercooked, almost raw. Extremely noisy. Will have to give it another try.

I took a seat in the upstairs dining room. There were eight tables, and everyone was evenly spaced. The service was excellent, and the waiters’ specials were very appealing.

I ordered the Scarpariello, boneless chicken sautéed with handmade sausage, artichoke hearts, lemon, rosemary roasted garlic in a brown sauce.

The food was flavorful and delicious. This restaurant comes highly recommended by me.
