Mariuchi in Brookline is a great spot. The environment is relaxed and very clean, which makes it easy to enjoy your time there. The food is consistently good, and the prepared items are especially well done and fresh. Drinks are solid and well made, and the prices feel fair for the quality you get. Overall, it is an easy place to come back to, whether you are grabbing food or sitting down for a drink.

THE place in Boston for matcha lattes with occasional seasonal drinks. They remain super green after mixing and actually taste strongly of matcha, unlike other cafes that rely on syrups and sugar to add flavor to their drinks. Last fall they had a popup with limited matcha latte flavors, like strawberry, white peach, and a yuzu sencha soda, so I would definitely keep an eye out for those!

Viral matcha place on tiktok, wouldn’t think that they have good food court also. I love the curry, portion is pretty big (good price). Was not fan of the real matcha taste but my friend said it was worth the hyped.

Fresh ingredients, clean flavors, and honestly the best affordable Japanese spot I’ve tried near Fenway off C line. Onigiri and rolls are elite with other options. Simple, quick, and worth it every time

Maruichi will always have a special place on my heart. They have really good food for relatively cheap prices. The matcha lattes are one of the best ones in Boston though lately their quality has gone a little bit down. The place is very full on the weekends so I would not recommend going there if you want to get a meal unless you go later in the day or ealy morning.

Ready to eat options are absolutely delicious! Great onigiri selection and chirashi bowls have fresh fish and very nice presentation. Everything is reasonably priced and definitely would come back again and again

Pretty decent hot houjicha latte – probably the best I’ve had in MA but there are bits of tea powder at the bottom so make sure to stir it before you finish it. It gets a little thin towards the end
Peach matcha is great and it’s a shame it’s seasonal

Amazing shop / restaurant! Lots of ready to eat options, Japanese sauces and speciality items and a matcha / pastry counter. Love the tea selection they have, and matcha is top quality. Onigiri is a steal as well! Though the spicy tuna is cooked.

The freshly made Pork Chashu and Ajitama Premium Onigiri is super good. The standout is the Iced Hojicha Latte—the milk and smoky hojicha are very well balanced.
However, the Iced Matcha Latte is a bit too strong and very granular (they don’t whisk it properly). I know that matcha is supposed to taste a bit earthy, but their matcha latte is too bitter. I’ve gotten it twice and have had similar experiences both times. I much prefer the Hojicha Latte.
Their chicken katsu curry is delicious. The chicken is perfectly fried with panko breadcrumbs and has the perfect crunch to it. The curry is also very flavorful. The dish is cheap considering the amount they serve.
They also serve A&J King Artisan Bakery items and Anna’s Donuts. The Lemon Danish from A&J was really good—the pastry was nicely flaky and flavorful, and the lemon cream filling was delicious. However, it’s not worth getting the donuts, as they are very dry.

One of the best matchas I’ve had in Boston — rich, vibrant, and perfectly made. The onigiri was also excellent.
