Super quick service and amazing food. The sushi tasted super fresh and you can watch chef make it behind the counter. The soup had noodles which was different but a nice surprise. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Have passed this restaurant a thousand times, Yesterday wanted some Hibachi and decided to give Umi a try. Had a great experience at UMI restaurant yesterday (Tuesday ) Brittany was so amazing with her suggestions on the sauce, we will always get the ginger sauce from now on. Thomas also gave us an amazing dining experience. Between the both of these two we had an amazing experience with their friendly service, positive energy and attention to detail. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dining experience. I will definitely be back to this location sooner than later.

We came here for dinner and everything for the most part was great. I’ll start with the least impressive thing first. Our table was not clean. We tried another and it was worse than the first one, so we just stayed at the first table. BUT when it was time to leave I wet my napkin and was able to clean the area. THIS is the reason for my four stars on the Atmosphere.
NOW, for the good part!
We were allowed to seat ourselves when we first got in. No wait at all. We opted for the dining room vs. the hibachi. Hailey was our waitress, and she was the sweetest thing ever. Her pleasant little voice, her nice smile, her patience, her helpfulNess, her attention to and caring for our needs. She helped us make some wonderful sushi selections. We started with the specialty rolls and then ordered some basic rolls. We even tried two appetizers: gyoza and calamari tempura. Everything was great. Of the three specialty rolls we ordered: salmon tempura, lobster tempura, and volcano roll, the salmon tempura was my favorite. The lobster tempura and volcano roll were both still very good as well. Then for the basic rolls we tried: the California roll, spicy California roll, and salmon teriyaki roll. I think I have had too many specialty rolls to want to eat the basic rolls again. The spicy California was my preferred basic roll though.
From the service we received tonight, in addition to the delicious food, I would definitely recommend you visit UMI Japanese Steak House. And if you get Hailey, you cannot go wrong. Shoutout to the guy making the sushi TOO.

The food was not cooked well at all. Nothing was cooked as I ordered it. Then when I complained it was not corrected. Portions of what I asked for were brought out to me cooked separately on plates instead of cooked together as a meal. I was then given a ticket with 15% gratuity already added in and was still charged for what I didn’t receive in my food. I spent $40 on a plate of minimal food that that wasn’t what I ordered . No apology from the manager. No discount on the horrible experience period. I will NEVER step foot in this restaurant again ! EVER! And wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I went here for my birthday when visiting my mom in GA. Food was good. The spicy tuna was not overly spicy but delish. The hibachi chef was nice and friendly. So much food so plenty for leftovers for the next day! We got the vegetarian and my mom got seafood.

My family and I visited this place during my birthday weekend with family & friend. The staff was welcoming. We were seated right away. The waiter explained the menu and was very helpful. The chef was awesome, engaging, and funny. Our food was absolutely fantastic/delicious. I got the steak, chicken, and shrimp with extra veggies and fried rice. I also got califonia rolls, half spicy, and shrimp tempura they both were delicious. It was our first time there, and I will definitely be there again in the future. You will not be disappointed

We went for hibachi. Our food was very tasty but our chef was boring and not entertaining at all. We took our kids out for a fun night, and unfortunately, the chef failed on that part. You go to hibachi for the good food and the entertainment. The entertainment part was lacking. Also, by the time he finished cooking the vegetables and meat, most people at the table were done eating their rice. I would recommend for the food not the entertainment.

Our waitress Brittany was so nice and attentive! It was our first time so we did go a bit overboard on ordering lol but everything we tried was delicious

My favorites were the super volcano and the vegetable tempura.
We came on a weekday so it wasn’t packed and will definitely come again 🙂
Gratuity is included (15%) but honestly I don’t mind that as it saves me trouble and Brittany was great!

The chef made our order incorrectly, and when we politely brought it to his attention, he was rude and dismissive instead of taking accountability.

After speaking with the owner, the situation only escalated. We were overcharged, and the service felt rushed from start to finish. To make matters worse, the food was honestly disgusting, which was shocking given the expectations we had coming in.

This was our first time visiting, and it will absolutely be our last. The lack of professionalism and poor handling of the situation completely ruined what should have been a special celebration for my daughter’s birthday. I would not recommend this place.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the steakhouses out here in GA since I came from Texas. I noticed the two states have some differences, but they’re not that different. The staff was very friendly. They were quick to refill drinks, which I liked a lot. I enjoyed the eel and avocado sushi roll with eel sauce. The chef was very young and skilled. He made hearts with the food for Valentine’s Day. The fried was good as well as the steak and shrimp. If you’re a health fanatic, I think you can request an oil to be used instead of butter and steamed rice instead of fried rice, so they’re very flexible. I recommend this place. It’s clean and nicely upkept as well with good decor, a large bar, and tvs to watch the Super Bowl and other sports even in the cooking area.
