A Note From The Chef. In my humble opinion, food is an inexhaustible expression of art & alchemy. During my younger years, I stumbled upon this gift of being able to recreate recipes after eating them. I have done my best to offer that gift through the recipes you see on the menu. Here you will not find any particular cooking style, but rather an approach to flavors and ingredients that seeks to nourish joy and awaken the senses. Rico Indian is a tribute to you and your beautiful body. May this meal add more ease, joy, glory & celebration of your living. Thank you for reading. Mohnish

P.s sorry for the lack of pictures, too busy enjoying the food!
We ordered the butter chicken thaali and each item was perfectly salted, flavorful and finger licking good! My ten year old rarely eats vegetables and he licked his platter clean! The Stuffed Peshawari naan is also really very good and a perfect fit to polish off the halwa/ dessert that came with the thaali. Highly recommend! This was the best Indian food I have had outside of South Asia. Authentic and the owner and staff are hospitable and clearly love what they do. You can taste it!
We had butter chicken, beef biriani, basmati rice, dahl, garlic naan, and a yogurt cream sauce; as well as mango margaritas. The bouquet of flavors and scents at the restaurant were scrumptious. And Diego and crew were phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back, and highly recommend!
Many guests mention that each plate feels thoughtfully prepared, with spices balanced beautifully so the flavors feel both comforting and exciting and I can confirm this is absolutely accurate. Every dish we tried reflected that same care, depth, and harmony of flavors. Nothing felt rushed or overly heavy; everything tasted intentional and crafted with heart.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, surrounded by nature, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a slow, satisfying meal. If you are craving authentic Indian cuisine in Puerto Vallarta, this place is definitely worth visiting.
Highly recommended, we will absolutely be back.
Service was very good, & we walked by the kitchen, it was sparkling clean.
Highly recommend!
We stumbled upon this gem and wow, what a find! Everything was absolutely delicious and felt so authentically spiced – just the way Indian food should be.
The aloo chaat was the perfect starter: crispy, tangy, spicy, with that addictive burst of flavors. The chicken tikka masala was rich, creamy, perfectly balanced, and had that wonderful smoky depth. But the real standout was the foxnut curry (phool makhana) – such a unique, light-yet-flavorful dish with incredible texture and just the right level of heat. The spice levels are legit – they don’t hold back, which we loved! Generous portions, warm service, and every bite screamed authentic Indian home cooking.
If you’re in Puerto Vallarta and craving real Indian flavors, do yourself a favor and go try this place. You won’t be disappointed!
Highly, highly recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a wonderful experience at Rico’s Indian Restaurant. The food was excellent from start to finish. I ordered the tandoori chicken—beautifully cooked, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned. My two friends, who are both Indian and very familiar with authentic Indian cuisine, ordered thalis and were genuinely impressed. They felt the flavors, balance, and overall quality were outstanding and true to what they know and love.
That kind of praise doesn’t come easily, so it really says something. You can tell the food is prepared with care and experience. A special mention to Manish, the owner, for delivering such consistently high-quality Indian food here in Puerto Vallarta. If you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine—whether you’re experienced with it or trying it for the first time—this place is absolutely worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back.
Edited: also out of lamb, so no lamb biryani. Also out of ice for drinks. And rice is 100 pesos. the aloo chat has nothing crispy at all, and is the tiniest portion imaginable. Definitely the last time we come here. Overall a really bad experience.
