This is a fabulous fried and roasted chicken place. They have a drive up window and indoor counter order. There’s a cafeteria line for those who’d like to eat in.
The fried chicken is excellent! We had the 7 piece dark (plus sides) to go. The pieces were generously sized (no skimpy little drumsticks) and were breaded well – just the right amount, very crispy, fried just right. This is Alabama where almost everything comes with too much salt, but not this chicken and best of all – not overcooked or greasy.
The rolls are excellent – yeasty rolls, fluffy, my husband is in love. Good mac and cheese and the slaw was good. I am waiting to try the peach cobbler in an hour or so. It looks awesome.
We were camping at White Oak Creek Campground and we will definitely be back!

Whenever I visit my hometown or pass through, I always think about how good Hartz’s chicken is, especially the wings!!! That crispy chicken is so good it makes you wanna kiss your mama. Also, the yeast rolls are the best!!! The employees are very nice. I haven’t eaten inside in a long time because I just go through the drive-through, but the last time I dine in the staff was friendly. There is some great food on the buffet. I just wish they would go back to all you can eat buffet. If you’re rolling through town, stop by and give it a try.

I’ve never dined in before but I get fried chicken and gizzards when I can pass through town. It’s THE best chicken I’ve had. If I lived there it would be a problem. Pro tip: pull over and eat it while it’s steaming hot.

Good place if you’re looking for fried foods and/or a buffet. We hit it at a bad time. They were putting fresh food out on the buffet when we left. Good rolls, fried chicken, fried fish, and stuffed crab. The yeast rolls are a staple here and have been since it began.

Nice selection on buffet. Excellent flavor and taste. Actually called “Big H” now. Was a little warm inside. Small booths and tables. We had a party of about 12 people and had to just group together at 4 booths close together. No way to add tables together. Satisfying meal. Peach cobbler was killer! Somewhat clean. Tiny Waffle House-type-restrooms. 3 star rating due to temperature of building and cramped seating. Staff was very friendly, food was excellent. Just not somewhere you’d want to stay for a long period of time. Didn’t take any pics.

I would like to say the chicken was fried perfect.. I’m from Fort Gaines, GA. I grew up eating that.. . That was my first time eating that in years and , I wouldn’t disappointed.. And the cornbread muffins was delicious..
