Cafesano is easily one of the best spots for Italian and Mediterranean food. I recently tried the meatball panini, and it was exceptional—truly delicious and perfectly moist. You can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients.
I also have to recommend the pizza; it’s absolutely great and a must-try if you visit. Whether you’re craving pasta, a panini, or a slice, this place delivers! Highly recommended for quality food and flavor.

An interesting discovery in the Reston area. Welcoming and very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The outside seating is very pleasant as well. I immediately noted the cleanliness of the entire area, keep it up. We tried mostly the paninis and they were good. They lacked a bit of seasoning. Having an extensive Mediterranean background and having owned a Lebanese restaurant, I opted not to try any of the platters this first visit. We took hummus and baba ghannouj for appetizers and not only was the portion way too small but the taste was not authentic, not even close. It is a casual place with great potential. I will try some of the platters next visit.

Terrible service. We order lentil soup, hummus and shawarma. Hummus never come we remind them kindly and got “we are busy give us some time” answer. We finished our food and went to cashier to ask the money back. She showed us hummus said it’s ready here, waiter was there and he did the same. We insist on refund and then manager showed ticket there is no hummus and cashier immediately said “you didn’t say hummus I am sorry.” And we did + she knew we did. Rude

This is a mixed bag for me.
I love the restaurant, it is located in such a cool place, has great views, and is really convenient. The downside is everything else.
I recently visited on a late Saturday morning to grab lunch. I ordered a meatball panini with French fries. The restaurant was busy but by no means slammed. I ended up waiting about 25-30 minutes to receive my sandwich, and when it came out, the meatballs were lukewarm at best and the bread had lost its crunch. The fries were hot and makes me think they may have held my order back to make the fries. While normally I appreciate fresh fries this was just not worth the time. On top of that my interaction with the lady behind the counter was not pleasant. She had a sour look on her face when I stepped up to the counter, gave me a bit of a quizzical look when I asked if I could get my sandwich on wheat and then after I declined to leave a tip gave me a very obvious frown of disapproval. All in all I regret going in and it will probably be a long while until I visit again.

The penne arrabbiata was delicious. The restaurant has great lighting with big windows overlooking the lake. You order your food at the counter and pay upfront so there is no host or server. The staff was polite and friendly!

I love all things Reston and Cafesano is one of my favorite spots. Good food, nice wine list, great service. Right on Lake Thoreau. Tonight we had a signature salad, penne arrabbiata and a bottle of Chianti. Our bill was under $60. This place is the place for a good meal at a nice price. That is almost impossible to find!

Very mixed experience.
We ordered takeout ahead. The prices were fine. The Greek pizza was delicious and well cooked. The linguine and marinara with meatballs added…not good. The meatballs were bland and not worth adding. The linguine was soggier then Spagghettios. The marinara was decent, actually.
It also took 3 people and 5 minutes to read the ticket screen and figure out that they should add garlic bread on our order. The kitchen itself and heating shelves were cluttered and disorganized, which makes me worried about the overall sanitation. Seems like the management of the kitchen is off.

I indulged in a delightful Salmon Kabob, perfectly grilled to enhance its rich flavors. It was artfully arranged on a plate alongside fluffy basmati rice, which was fragrant and delicately seasoned. The dish also featured a colorful medley of grilled vegetables, their vibrant hues glistening with a charred finish, and a refreshing garden salad, crisp and light. Accompanying it all were warm, pillowy pita bread and a luscious tzatziki sauce, creamy and cool, adding a delightful tang to each bite.

CafeSano is our go to Mediterranean restaurant. We have been here several times, food is consistent and every time we like it.
Friendly staff, clean restaurant and ambience is excellent. This one is near to lake so if you happen to be there during day time you are going to love overall views from the restaurant.
Food is delicious as well, they have both veg and non veg options in Pizzas, wraps, pastas and Panini sandwiches.
Their pizzas are amazing we have tried Margarita and Greek pizza both are vegetarian and good ..served at right temperature. We also order hummus w pita, chicken swarma wrap and chicken kabab platter which was served with basmati rice.
Overall great food in good price…I will visit again.
