California burrito was great. Service was great also. Pricing is good. Went there close to closing time and it seemed fine for them. A pot of places seem grumpy when you show up close to closing time. These guys didn’t. Definitely going again! ( to try the fish tacos! )

So hard to find as their front sign is not lit such that it looks closed from the street. We’ve lived here 3 years and finally tried it. Loved the food. Liked the drinks. And loved our server. It was Friday night and plenty of seating with zero wait. They start you with delicious thick chips and amazing fresh salsa. Highly recommend.

Went there on 10/23/25 for lunch. I had the #1 Special (beef burito with rice and beans). I liked it (because I do not eat veggies). Others in the group were not so enthused with the taste of there choices. Waitress had some issues with English, but we were able to make it work. On the fence regarding a return visit.

The table was sticky / dirty when we sat down. The margaritas and guacamole were good as well as the chips. However the tacos were not good. The ranchero enchiladas were good. The service was friendly but rather slow.

Nothing special. Food was good and service was average. You do get chips and dip for free now. It was slow the day we came so can’t say anything about the atmosphere.

First visit to Cuco’s Mexican Restaurant in Waunakee. Not too busy when we arrived, greeted by friendly server and seated right away. Ordered a couple of house margarita’s, although they were tasty they are small. Asked if we would like some salsa and chips, “sure” we responded – only to find that we were charged for them on our bill. I tried the Pollo Fundido and “she” had the shrimp chimichangas – our meals were good but not great. I never like to judge the quality of the food and the quality of the experience by the amount of the bill, but in this case I have to say the food quality doesn’t match the $65 spent for two with a couple of margaritas…and chips and salsa and extra sour cream. With all that said, our server was friendly and attentive, food was average, and experience was average at best. I think they can do better.

Unfortunately, I hate to say this, but it wasn’t very good. Had a Chimichanga and whatever grease, it was fried in was old. Chicken was like frozen or something it was Spongy. No sour cream, lettuce, or Salsa with it. Which normal Mexican restaurants give you that on the side with it. Beans were not very good pretty runny. Rice was not in the spectacular either. The Server had a very hard time understanding what we were trying to order. But she was nice. And she did try. I had other people with me and nobody cared for theirs. And if this doesn’t say something in itself my dog won’t even eat the leftovers. Unfortunately not interested in ever trying it again. I originally I was really excited because I thought it was the owner’s from the Buckeye store in Madison. Unfortunately for a four hour drive it was not.

The place is clean, the bar service was excellent and the food was mixed. Grilled chicken tacos had a weird texture, the Chile Colorado was tender but very fatty and the kids dinosaur chicken nuggets were a bagged average frozen meal. It was better than expected with all the mixed reviews, but we probably wouldn’t try it again.
