Jins is a local Asian eatery. My wife thought it was cozy, warm, nicely decorated. We had a booth near the bar. Our margaritas were smooth, like a fresh lemonade made with Casamigo Blanco. Wonton spicy soup, Mongolian beef clay pot and chicken low mein all delicious, good sized portions. Fast service, accurate menu descriptions, clean.

Ratings Don’t Lie-Worst Customer Service EVER

If a business has many negative reviews for rudeness, lack of cleanliness, tasteless food, etc., believe the reviews. I am in shock from a terrible experience I had at Jin’s in Wellesley tonight. The manager/owner was incredibly rude to me, not once, but TWICE. Sadly, if you read the other reviews, I am far from alone. I am used to businesses making small mistakes from time to time. Mistakes happen. It’s how a business deals with mistakes that makes the difference. Tonight I picked up food at Jin’s and was given someone else’s order. Immediately upon arriving home, I realized the mistake and called the restaurant. Given that the restaurant is close to our home, and that I wanted to get our order as quickly as possible, I agreed to bring it back to exchange orders. When I got there, I received a very lukewarm apology and was told I could keep both orders. I politely declined, but the manager persisted- asking “Don’t you like Crab Rangoon?” I again declined, saying that I don’t eat what the other person ordered. She pressed again, refusing to believe I didn’t want Crab Rangoon, so I explained that I can’t eat fried food because it doesn’t agree with me. She looked at my order and demanded to know why it included a shrimp tempura roll. I explained that it was for my husband and she rudely scoffed at me. Offering something that she was going to throw out as an ‘apology’ and then giving me a hard time about not wanting it was incredibly inappropriate. I wish the story ended there.

When I got home for the second time, I took our food out of the bag and noticed that I had been given the wrong soup. When I called back and spoke to the manager again, she argued and adamantly refused to believe it was the wrong soup. I was shocked and told her how disappointed I was about how she handled the mistakes and treated me. She then had the gall to blame me for taking the wrong bag of food, when she was the one to hand it to me after I gave her my name and phone number. She didn’t apologize for the inconvenience or thank me for driving back to exchange orders. She refused to refund the soup- only saying she’d give a free soup next time I came in. I told her how upset and shocked I was to be treated this way, arguing with me about everything- including my diet! I asked her what ever happened to customer service and ‘the customer always being right.’ She replied rudely that “the customer is not always right, service is“. Well this customer is going to take their business to one of the many other local restaurants that appreciate their customers and treat them well. We will never go here again. Not only is the service abominable, but the food is inconsistent and not worth the high prices! Next time we will believe the bad reviews.

Alvin, our server, was awesome.
The lychee martini was delicious, the hot and sour soup was different but amazing, and the kung poa chicken delicious. Best quick Chinese we’ve had in a while

Upscale but casual Chinese and Japanese restaurant located on route 16 in Wellesley at the Newton line. The staff is friendly and the decor is welcoming. I had oolong tea to drink. The presentation was pretty cool. They have a pretty extensive menu. I had items from the Chinese side for this visit. I started with the hot and sour soup. This was dark with a nice rich flavor that left a little kick on your lips. Plenty of fillers like golden needle, wood ear mushrooms, mushrooms, tofu and a few others. It tasted like they finish it with sesame oil and Chinese basil. The baby back ribs are the smaller ones, however these are perfect. They have a thin crisp around them with a juicy, tender and flavorful layer of meat that is absolutely delicious. One of the things that sets Jin’s aside is the offer soup dumplings. These have a nice ball of pork and spices as well as soup inside the dumplings. I really love these. The last item I had was the prawns with minced beef and lobster sauce. This is a very old school of making this dish. The flavors were delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfectly.
Overall had a great experience here. I very much recommend their food!

Jin’s serves excellent Chinese cuisine and sushi , has lovely service and a pretty room. Vegetables are fresh and crisp, dishes are nicely sauced. Rice doesn’t usually get special mention but the brown rice option is delicious. Vegetarians and gluten free diners would be happy here, and children too.

There’s plenty of parking, and the restaurant is handicapped accessible.

This is my second review on this restaurant -worth to give my 5 star rating again. I like their soup dumpling, hot & sour soup, and yuen yang spicy beef with string bean. This is such a nice combo. Hope they keep up with the current rating with good food and service.

I love the food every time I come here. The sushi is so fresh. The service is usually really good. There was a summer special of roasted pork steamed buns Hong Kong style that we got tonight and I’m still thinking about them it was so good. It needs to be on the regular menu!!!
