This was my third time here and I ordered a box of deep-fried buns and steamed buns. Both types of buns are filled with a combination of pork, Chinese sausage, and egg.
The fried buns were generously stuffed, with the filling leaning towards the sweet and savory side. The pork filling was slight sweet, but had good flavor. The buns were crispy and golden on the outside, and fluffy and light on the inside. A solid 7 out of 10 for me.
Unfortunately, the steamed buns had a very strong soapy taste this time. I really liked their steamed buns in the past, the dough to filling ratio was solid! The dough was airy with a generous amount of meat. But due to the soap taste I would have to rate it 1 out of 10 this time around. The soapy taste was stuck on my tongue for a while despite rinsing with water a few times. I hope this was just a one time thing and doesn’t happen again.

I tried the mixed Bao with quail eggs. 9 baozi in a box costs $19, in cash. If you pay via credit cards, it’ll be pricier.
I tried the popular Yummy Banh Bao in LA before. Now to compare with this, the baos here were smaller than I expected, and quite pricey. The meat fillings were seasoned enough, but not as good as the other competitors.

I love TP Banh Bao from OC. I been buying banh bao from this place. Last night i bought a box home for my kids and they ate it but said why the meat look funny. I looked at it and it still raw. We called the store and they said to bring it back and they give us a new box. Really we ate raw meat, and all you can say is we give you a new box? Refer to the picture.

The GOAT spot. I come here every time I’m in the area. Great deals for great food!
I try to get something different each time, and my most recent visit I had got the deep fried baos for the first time. Texture was A1 and taste was great too. There is a minimum on these orders, but I’m sure you will want more than just 1.
All baos are made fresh to eat. They are small, but I think the quality and taste makes up for the size. In this economy, you can’t find anything cheaper !

I tried their taro bao, custard bao and chicken with egg bao. All were fresh, hand made and were super good. The bao’s were soft and fluffy on the outside and their fillings were not too sweet. Though it’s more of a take away kind of place, their service is fast and amicable. The old guy was friendly and heated up our buns. Good place to gets baos.

I tried the infamous Yummy bao from LA to compare and it isn’t a huge difference in my opinion. Since I discovered this place, I came at least once a month if not every other week for their whole box of fried bao. The fresh fried bao has a crunch to it. The filling is to the rim.
Recently, they started to sell me the one pre-fried instead of the fresh fried ones. Still edible but no crunch. It takes away all my excitement and the eager to sink my teeth into a juicy crunchy freshly fried bao. I’m now not exciting or eager to come back soon.
What always set a restaurant apart from its competitors is the experience and service. I still recommended the place and hope they will alway improve to rise to one of the top destination in the Bay.

Everything taste delicious! I got the BBQ pork, custard and cheese, chicken and salt egg, and the fried original pork. I Enjoyed them all but loved the fried one the most! Very fresh, crispy and sweet! Fried to order.
