We had a great time last night at the fireside grille (Valentine’s Day).
The restaurant was very busy but the staff was on it, making sure to keep drinks filled and customers happy, Karen did an amazing job for our party of 8, all while keeping a smile on her face.

If you haven’t been, give it a shot, the food is good and the staff are friendly, you won’t be disappointed.

We drove through the beautiful town of Shepard that’s growing with grace. To arrive at the golf course to find The Fireside Grille my husband had the chicken bowl with mash potatoes and corn he enjoyed. I had their Fireside black and blue burger the burger was cooked perfectly, their Fireside sauce over powered the blue cheese. I’ll ask for less sauce next time. The scenery was beautiful!

We had a family party there last night, there were 22 of us. Our server Grace who was doing it all by herself was fantastic, she was very helpful, friendly, courteous and caring. She took our orders, served our meal and was our bartender with a big smile. She asked us frequently if everything was okay and could she get us anything else. It had to be hectic doing all this alone but she handled it with flying colors. Food was excellent and prices reasonable, I highly recommend this restaurant, beautiful place and great atmosphere. I hope the owners appreciate Grace and the fine job she does. Grace is definitely a huge asset to your company. On a scale of 1 to 5 I would give her a 10

I went a couple years ago and remember delicious steaks and entrees. Now, the menu has changed to essentially bar food for lunch and dinner. We waited extremely long for our food, and I couldn’t even eat my wrap once I got it. The chicken was mushy and it did not taste fresh.

In the past we’ve had good service but this time it was horrible. We waited almost an hour and 10 minutes for our food and when it came half the food was cold. The restaurant was only half-full so I don’t know why this happened. I ordered a burger and because it took so long the bun with all soggy from the grease from the burger. We ordered an onion ring appetizer for $5 and it came with literally 5 onion rings. It will be a while before we come back if ever.

So we went here for the first day of them serving breakfast and the wait for our food was pretty long after our food was ordered. We didn’t complain because, well, like I said it was their first day. The problem was that the waitress didn’t bring any of the accompying condiments (ie. Salsa for the breakfast burrito, syrup/butter for the pancakes) until after the food came to the table. Which we had to wait a little bit for them letting our semi hot food get cooler. I ordered the breakfast egg rolls and there was an option for bacon OR sausage. I ordered the sausage and someone else ordered the bacon. The other persons came out first looking a bit over cooked but having both bacon AND sausage. When questioned the waitress said the chef must have just mixed them. The other person said it was fine. I don’t like bacon but I said it was fine because I thought mine were coming right out as well. She said she was going to check. Well, mine didn’t come for like another 15 minutes (enough time for the waitress to make sure I would get what I ordered) but when it did it had both meat options as well. Granted, mine looked like they were cooked perfectly but the bacon really ruined the taste for me. None of the people in my party were very impressed but said that we understood with it being new for them, but we thought we’d give them another shot for dinner because they’ve been doing that for awhile.

That was Sunday morning, and we gave it another try on Wednesday night. First clue should have been that we were the only table in the place the entire time we were there. This time I ordered the patty melt with waffle fries. My waffle fries came out extremely cold and my patty melt was beyond dry. When the waitress came back to the table I let her know and she offered to get me something else, to which I declined. Mostly because I had already eaten half of the sandwhich and some of the appetizer that we had ordered so that was sufficient and also because by the rest of the peoples reactions to their food nothing seemed a better choice. Needless to say, we feel like we did our due diligence but we will not be returning to this resturant.

I will say that the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, the prices are reasonable and the establishment is clean but that’s definitely not enough reason for me to return for dining.

We used to love Fireside when Bill Waltz was chef. We recently went for a nice dinner and it has changed dramatically. One glass of wine, one draft beer, 2 entrees, nothing else was $78. No bread, no appetizer, mediocre server skills. The “Airline Chicken” looked as white as a sheet and was to put it politely…bland. There must have been a change in ownership as all of the friendly faces and competent help are gone. The meal was a total disappointment and prices are much too high for this quality of service and food. I forgot to add that we waited more than 30 minutes for our meals in a half-full room.

Nice restaurant! We came here on a Thursday afternoon and it was very quiet and the food came out very quick and our waitress was awesome! The only thing I was disappointed with was the portions of food are very small for the price your paying!
