I recently had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I had to cancel my reservation because I tested positive for COVID-19 and was too sick to attend. I tried calling to explain the situation, but no one answered or returned my calls. Despite giving more than 24 hour + notice, I was still charged a cancellation fee for a dinner I never even attended.
For a so called michelin star omakase if they are not getting a fresh delivery every morning then everyone is eating DAY OLD fish EWWW!
It’s incredibly unfair to penalize someone under those circumstances, especially when there was legitimate notice and a valid health reason. I would have expected a more understanding and responsive approach, particularly given today’s environment. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression and I don’t plan on booking here again.
They didn’t even call me back, they wont even return my email look at the images they just shoot the email around the company. No acknowledgement at all.
One small note: One of the waitresses had a noticeable sniffle and sounded congested. She did not cough and made an effort to keep a reasonable distance, so I do not want to fault her. However, as a new parent, hearing someone continuously sniffling does make me nervous. If this comes up in the future, I would appreciate the staff considering simple precautions like offering or using a face mask to help guests feel more comfortable.
I hope the chef didn’t mind that I couldn’t eat the last few pieces. Luckily, my dinner companion was thrilled to help!
Can’t wait to come back. Thanks so much for great service and a memorable evening!
Service was fantastic and very educational.
The food was amazing and we left full after 2 hours of eating. Absolutely loved it!
We did the omakase plus sake pairing and both were amazing. There was no wait time at all
The service was top-notch. We had three servers, and each of them was warm and friendly, and they took the time to explain each dish as it came out. The pacing of the dishes was also perfect. I couldn’t ask for more.
However, be advised that in addition to the 20% gratuity included in the bill, a further tip is expected. This is not stated on the website or on Resy, and you would only know this by reading online reviews. From what I understood, the gratuity goes to the back of the house and operational costs, and the added tip is for the servers. We were happy to support the people who made this wonderful evening possible, but to avoid frequent confusion from guests, I think they should just bake the 20% gratuity charge into the price of the meal. I’m guessing they set the prices this way so as not to scare off potential customers, but I think a lot of people aren’t aware of this practice, get sticker shock, and end up leaving them bad reviews. I just feel for the servers who have to explain this policy every evening, as it creates an awkward situation and surprises most guests. After gratuity and the added tip, you should expect to pay at least $200 per person.
Great attention to detail.
The servers make you feel catered to. We got to see the chefs craft the dishes right in front of us. It was delicately prepared and served, and the servers explained all the dishes brought out. Got to taste a variety of fish cuts from all over the world.
They have an insane miso cheesecake at the end that blew my mind. I cannot wait to go back. 1000% recommended
For the price, food isn’t that good. Paid 400+ for 2 people. I’m sure there’s better places to spend the money, like rent.
