Four of us went to dinner at Garibaldis last night and were disappointed for different reasons. The first thing that happened was our friends ordered the Caprese salad, expecting the classic of sliced fresh mozzarella with sliced tomatoes, fresh basil drizzled with a balsamic glaze but when our server presented it he told them that the kitchen was out of fresh mozzarella (WHAT??) and the salad was some sort of version with breaded fried tomatoes AND French dressing ~ they were not informed beforehand AND were not given an option. We ordered a Caesar salad that didn’t seem as fresh as expected & was not offered Parmesan cheese. One of
our friends ordered the lamb dish special & said the flavor was good but the meat was dry. Our other friend ordered a fish skillet of sorts supposedly with swordfish, mussels & various fish ~ unfortunately it had salmon INSTEAD ~ fortunately she likes salmon but was disappointed because she was expecting the swordfish. My husband ordered the special Wagyu steak ~ which is pricey ~ the steak was tough rather than the expected melt in your mouth. I ordered the Capellini Siciliana with scallops & shrimp tossed with angel hair pasta. In my opinion, it was OKAY I only had two scallops & unfortunately the shrimp was overcooked. The sauce was decent but I had to ask for Parmesan cheese ~ I would have expected our server to offer this to all of us but didn’t.
THEN we asked for boxes to take our leftovers and since our friend had the seafood dish she needed a container to accommodate the sauce ~ the server joked about needing a “bucket” so what does he show up with? A VERY LARGE container that their spices came in…. Yep you know the extremely large bucket of spices, which still had remnants of the spices and we received a normal to go box along with a plastic Walmart bag to carry it in We got a good laugh at least & our friend opted to for go the “bucket” & requested a regular to go box leaving a large amount of the sauce behind
All in all we always enjoy our time together & make the best of everything but, for the cost of this dinner out, we were all disappointed to say the least. I doubt that we will be going there again any time soon, which disappoints all of us because we take pride in supporting our local businesses.

I hadn’t been to Garibaldi’s in 15 years but I suggested we try it to my wife for date night last night and we were pleasantly surprised and impressed with our experience. Parking was fine, the cozy Italian atmosphere inside was charming and we were seated immediately. Without glamorizing too much, although it’s well deserved, I will conclude this review to emphasize the fact that the food was outstanding! My wife had the Spinach Salad with Shrimp and I had what I have been craving for months, the Clam Linguini entree. It may have been the best Clam Linguini I have ever had and we expressed these opinions prior to leaving. We’ll be frequenting the restaurant henceforth as I look forward to enjoying the additional items on the menu that sounded very appealing.

Went on New Year’s eve. Had a reservation made in advance. The wait was nice and the restaurant was clean. The reason for such a low rating is it took almost a hour to get our food and we ended up having to get it to go. Took 45 minutes to get our appetizer. Rather than just put it in to-go boxes they brought it out to us and then had to ask more than once for boxes. To make up for the inconvenience they didn’t charge us for our drinks. For the price you pay and having to make a required reservation it would be nice to have more prompt service. Don’t continue to say it should be out soon.

Expensive! Be prepared to pay top prices for standard food. We ordered the Eggplant Parmesan as it was the least expensive entree on the menu ($21.95) ; two thick slices of eggplant with a few veggies on the side. The eggplant was good, but needed more sauce. We also ordered a side of garlic bread ($5.95) and for the price was a huge disappointment – buttered bread with a sprinkle of garlic powder. The house wines were nothing to write home about either (tasted both white and red) and passed on both, as water was preferable. There were several “specials” offered by our server who did not volunteer the prices. BE SURE TO ASK HOW MUCH THE SPECIALS COST BEFORE ORDERING! They are extremely expensive. With tip we paid $70.00 for very unremarkable food. ☹️

6 of us ladies came here for New Year’s Eve…. We arrived at 5;30 and waited 45-50 minutes after we ordered to receive our food. 1 dish- chicken della casa was served very much cold… another chicken dish – fettuccine Victoria- chicken was chewy and rubbery- needed a knife, a third dish the pesto on the ravioli separated from the oil otherwise the ravioli were tasty but swimming in oil. They offered a free desert-ice cream and berries good- cobbler was like pastie dough. The one dish that was good was the cappellini shrimp and scallops. Also chicken Marsala was good (not great). Neither Garlic bread, bread, or salad is included in the meals. If 2 small eaters share a plate it is a $9.95 inch xtra charge.
Our wine glasses set empty for 15-20 minutes, we had to ask another waitress for help.
Unfortunately- very disappointing night.

It was just a few short weeks ago that I wrote a review for an Italian restaurant in Buffalo New York, giving it 5 stars and stating that it was the best Italian food I had ever eaten anywhere. I’m here to tell you that Garibaldi’s blows that place away. I had the traditional spaghetti and meatballs and it was amazing. The sauce was very authentic and I loved the garlic that they used in the sauce. The meatballs were huge and delicious. My wife got a chicken dish, I can’t remember the name of it, but it was made with some kind of lemon marinade and baked. That was equally amazing. On top of all that, the service was excellent, quick and friendly. you are missing out if you don’t go to Garibaldi’s for a great Italian meal.

Garibaldi’s Italian Kitchen is an amazing restaurant in Downtown Carson City. Highly recommend if you want Italian cuisine or pasta. The food was excellent, great service, and awesome small restaurant atmosphere.

Nice decor and nice people. Very inviting.
However the food was disappointing.
The Caprese salad was not the traditional one I was hoping for.
My bad for not reading the description closely.
Salad: pictured here is wilted and brown. It was awful.
And the bread while not too bad, could have been a little fresher.
it was compacted like it had been frozen and re-heated.
Then I asked for meatballs and spaghetti to go but they could not as they were out of larger containers.
Another customer very near to me was asking for various items that they were out of as well. Too many things not available.
They offered desert and then backtracked as they were out of almost everything. And this was early like 5:30. I went home with blueberry pie that was not good either.
Classy looking Italian style ambience and nice people but they were not prepared, out of too many things. And with this kind of restaurant I expect fresh food, not brown wilted lettuce. This was unacceptable. 🙁

Had a reservation at 5:00pm only 3 other couples in restaurant. Took 40 minutes to get a salad and another 20 minutes for food.
Chicken Victoria very watery not much flavor and chicken rubbery. Wife got Pollo Chicken with some noodles and carrots Chicken worst then mine she ate maybe 2 bits. No flavor as well. Shared a house salad very small for $8.50 neither dish came with garlic bread disappointing. 2 sodas bill $76.50. Worst dinner in Carson City oh well lesson learned.
