The egg drop soup was already premade and very watery. The chicken & great beans was awful. It seems that the chicken is precooked or steamed and then thrown together. The chicken was like rubber. I gave them another try after many years, but never again.

I like shredded Beef with garlic sauce! I’m a lover of Chinese take out. I live in Florida, it’s not like pizza, you can’t get good pizza in Florida. You can get decent Chinese takeout! So to be long winded I’ll get to the point. KING’S CHEF as a local take out meet all the points! My sister in law is in St Catherine’s Hospital and you know how Hospital food tastes. Well I brought her the Eggroll and she couldn’t say enough about it, along with the fact that she devoured it and said it was delicious! I had my Shredded Beef with garlic sauce and vegetables with pork fried rice. It was mouth watering fantastic. I give your entire team A+ on the flavor, presentation, portion size and quality of ingredients. Thank you for coming to our hunger in a time of need!!!!

My son called in for an order and the service is terrible here. There was a confusion with the order and instead of politely talking it out, the man taking the order immediately goes to yelling at the top of his lungs very aggressively so we just hang up. I wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star and I won’t ever be ordering from this place again.
Edit: His reply is just hilarious. He claims he didn’t understand the order, but he literally mentions it in the first sentence of his reply. The order was clearly repeated back to him on the phone when he asked and he immediately resorted to yelling at the top of his lungs. His excuses for yelling at the top of his lungs for a minor confusion is also hilarious.

It annoys me to no end that people in our community will bash a business with a single star for what is frequently a very minor issue. Even worse, is the appalling tendency to be pissed off when there’s a language issue.
The people at this restaurant are lovely, caring, friendly members of our community. Whether I walk in or answer the door for a delivery, I see the same faces as I have for years.
King’s Chef has been a trusted, reliable Chinese restaurant in Smithtown for decades. I agree with anyone who scores them low for “atmosphere.” But come on, friends, this is a classic “hole in the wall” Chinese restaurant. There is Zero ambience. It’s almost exclusively a take out or delivery restaurant. You go to them for their food, not the decor or ambience. With this said, it’s kept spotlessly clean and must comply with the town’s strict sanitary and building codes, just like any other restaurant.
And their food is reliably delicious, at an excellent price. Their lunch and dinner combinations can generally be customized to your preferences (we don’t like mushrooms and they gladly leave them out of fried rice or mixed vegetables.) The meat and veggies are always fresh, things like sweet & sour chicken are perfectly fried and served with yummy sauces alongside, and they have fantastic crispy noodles. Their egg drop and won ton soups are family favorites and their fried rice dishes arrive hot and clearly just-made.
Outstanding food at an outstanding value – what more can you ask for?
In more than 15 years of enjoying their cooking and super-quick delivery, I can count on one hand the number of times the food wasn’t exactly as expected. I have never, ever seen or heard of anyone finding poorly or under-prepared meat or shellfish. We would never use them again if this was the case. They instantly resolve any issues, always to our complete satisfaction.
We count on King’s Chef to make and deliver delicious food. Period. On the occasions I’ve walked in and ordered on the spot, it’s awesome to watch the kitchen staff jump into action and make my food while I watch.
Set your expectations properly and you won’t regret ordering from a great menu. In return, you will enjoy an excellent, authentic Chinese meal that’s both delicious and quickly delivered.

This used to be a good restaurant. Now is Low quality food, super grease, no flavor, just oil. Very expensive for what you get. Not amount, i mean quality.

Their food is the best Chinese food you can find in the nearby area bc I literally tried every single one nearby. Very tasty but not oily. They take my order as how I want it to be cooked. Front desk lady is always very friendly. Only thing is place doesn’t look modern that’s all. It’s definitely my to go kitchen for those days I don’t feel like cooking !

They forgot part of my order and when I called he started screaming at the top of his lungs that my order didn’t say that item. He did this 4 times until.i hung up. It is a luncheon special that comes with the item and it is written on my order, I have a copy of it. Horrible attitude and the worst service ever, plus most of the food is dry, overcooked and inedible . After they saw my review they quickly sent someone over with a separate bag of soup and noodles leaving it unattended though I appreciated the attempt to correct their mistake

Shrimp in two meals werent cleaned. Still had the waste material attached. Appetizer arrived burnt and the meat was not fresh. I’ve seen fresher and cheaper food on display in the gas station. The entire order was inedible and had to be thrown out. Then had to order from another restaurant on top of it. Delivery driver shoved the receipt into my hand to fill the tip in and walked away without even saying hi or thank you. Not even so much as a smile. Seemed annoyed to be delivering orders. Ordering from this place is a complete waste of time and money. Never again.
