Never did I ever think I would be having a sit-down dinner in a gas station but here we are. This was our first time traveling through this area and restaurants were few and far between. We saw a sign for the Chicken Coop and I looked them up online to view their menu. Fried chicken and fresh vegetables sounded good to us so we stopped. It was really good.

I had a burger from here a couple of years ago and I remembered it being expensive, but really good. I got one today with a can of soda and it was 12 dollars. The burger had been cooked to death and was about two thirds the size of what they used to be. It’s not worth the money anymore. The place has turned onto a game parlor as well. Lots of people on slot machines.

We stopped by there on our way home from Natural Bridge when there was nothing else around to eat because of New Years Day closings. I got chicken and my husband got a Turkey and cranberry wrap. The cost of the wrap was a little much…$11.49 but the cost of eating it was way worse. Husband only ate 1/2 of the wrap, luckily because by the time we got home 3hrs later he had food poisoning. Nothing else to eat before the Chicken Coop, nothing else afterwards. Went down hard and has just now gotten to a point where he feels human again. I called yesterday to give them a “heads-up” so they would know to maybe throw out the turkey and cranberries but unfortunately the young lady I spoke with was unconcerned. Just be careful of what you eat at gas station restaurants.

Stopped here on a whim. Was not disappointed. Very good chicken and sides. I wasn’t expecting that from chicken at a gas station. They were busy for a reason. Mac and green beans were awesome as well. Plan to stop here again when we’re traveling through.

Ordered 3 eggs with fixings
Eggs came fried
I went back and ordered 3 more eggs stating that it was my fault I should’ve specified scrambled soft. Paid for 3 more eggs ordered scrambled soft. I had to laugh when i opened the box it was 3 fried eggs Chopped up in pieces
My husband had a chicken biscuit- we could have chopped wood with the hardness of the chicken
Bacon on egg platter was extremely old obviously reheated multiple times

Service was great at the food counter. She was very patient while I decided what to get. I ate there for dinner while traveling through to NC and the food was tasty and fresh. Meats, bread, and lettuce were good quality. Even went back for lunch the next day when I was getting back on the road south.

Stopped in to grab a quick bite while in town for an event. I got the chicken egg and cheese biscuit. It was huge!! The biscuit was really good and really fresh the piece of chicken was pretty good too. Ill definitely stop back by if given the opportunity

Best of everything fried to perfection. They even have Impossible breakfast and Lunch/Dinner offerings for non meat eaters. Great store and staff. A few snack products that most urban areas Don’t have.

I am genuinely shocked and surprised that a fried chicken place located within a gas station was this amazing. The price was right, the service was efficiently fast, and the chicken and sides were of top quality. I will bookmark this place for next time i need to travel from North VA to the southern states. I will be back.
