Best breakfast in the Detroit metro area. The hash browns and bacon were so nicely cooked. I got blueberry pancakes and my boyfriend got a veggie omelet. The owner is the kindest woman and really knows how to run a business. She’s hospitable and generous. Seems to know the customers well – they must be regulars. I felt at home in this unassuming breakfast spot. You would never expect it to be as good as it was, which is what we loved about it. You can’t beat how affordable it is. Definitely come check this place out and you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent diner. Omelette was wonderful as was the Coney. The fries were fantastic. Mom & son are running the show. Service is absolutely exceptional. She is so generous and kind. He is methodical on the grill and prepares everything perfectly. Definitely worth visiting.

At first glance, the exterior of the restaurant, admittedly is not extremely appealing. It is attached to a motel, but upon seeing the restaurant, you get a real homey vibe. These people look like and have been here for a while, and love what they do. The second you enter the restaurant it is intimate, well themed, and the staff is very friendly. You can see the chef cooking in front of you, which reassures you that the food you’re getting is made right then and there. Typically I get a chicken pita, or chicken tenders everywhere I go. I had the delight of combining the two options on this particular experience. Although I’ve never had chicken tenders on a pita before, it is prompted me the opportunity to make this a chicken and waffles experience. Which I would say has been a great success. Ingredients, top-notch, customer service, satisfactory, overall opinion. Gas food. Would come here again

This is a blue-collar diner. Good amount of delicious food for the cost, which has never been too expensive. Nothing fancy, but you get your order how you want it and you get it fast enough. It’s Royal Oak.

I think I’ve found my regular weekend omelette spot. First time here and got it right on the 1st request. For the price and the amount you get.. totally with it! The waitress was also such a delight.

I, 21, have been coming to Monty’s ever since I was 8. Back then, my dad, brother, and I were welcomed in and fed and thus began a lifelong relationship with the best diner in metro Detroit. I get the same meat lovers omelette with pancakes (1 meal) and leave with a smile on my face and a full belly every time. Not to mention the community that has formed at that restaurant, only good people working at and coming through to eat. I have brought many friends here and not a single one has ever been disappointed.

Very small inside but there was never a wait for a table and the food was perfect greasy spoon. The kind where you get pancakes and they pick up the flavors from the rest of the food on the grill. Such good flavors!

I had to stop at the bank while I was waiting I got on yelp to look for a place to grab lunch. I was looking for something close and landed in this place. I saw that it had 135 reviews with an overall 4 1/2 star rating. So I decided to come to check it out. I hit open in maps and GPS and drove here. Honestly, I had no idea that I was coming to a sketchy looking hotel lol.
But I am glad I did.
I got a sausage and cheese omelet with toast. The food was excellent. When I got back to work and told a coworker about it, he said his dad used to take him there when he was a kid.
I bummed that I never stopped in until today I sure have been missing out

Very good food. Eggs benedict has big thick slices of ham. I get tomato slices instead of hash browns. The prices are right. The same woman I’ve seen working behind the counter three times now (must be the owner) is very nice and accommodating. The burgers are also fantastic. Home made from fresh beef, you can tell. All-round solid choice.

Love it…. The atmosphere alone reminds you of a little diner of the 50s.
Food cooked with love an you can taste his patience as he’s cooking away on the (50 plus years) flat top.
A must go!
