Square One Brewery & Distillery opened its doors in February 2006 as a neighborhood brewery and restaurant, and in 2008 proudly became Missouri’s first microdistillery since Prohibition. From the beginning, our mission has been to craft beers and spirits with distinctive character and exceptional quality—flavors you won’t find in mass production. By blending the expertise of our master brewer, distiller, and chef, we create a truly unique experience, offering an ever-evolving lineup of bold, creative, and delicious tastes for our guests.
Global pub grub pairs with craft beer & house spirits in a chill setup with a vintage bar & patio.

We brought home one of their specialty.Beers this time to add to our wisconsin beer cheese soup, as I think it will be a perfect blend. We got there around 2:30 PM. There was no wait in line. The food came quickly. Everything hot and served as ordered. The home made chips were delicious.
This is a great place to visit and children are welcome. Parking is along the street and free.
One of my favorite things about the visit was their patio. It’s spacious, comfortable, and best of all, dog-friendly. A huge plus for us since we had Poe and Molly in tow. It made for such a relaxed and enjoyable dinner.
They have a great beer flight option, if you’re not sure what to get – and they make some good craft cocktails as well.
Sunday evenings are chill if you just need a place to hang at the bar.
The bartender was super cool. Whitney, I think. Totally awesome – made some great suggestions and conversational, which are sometimes a lost art in service these days.
They are listed as both a brewery and distillery but we only tried their spirits. They make their own whiskeys, gins, vodkas ,run and agave.
We decided to try to a flight…Urban bourbon, blueberry bourbon, strawberry basil gin and Vermont night liquor. The bourbons were very light and easy drinking. I did not taste much blueberry. My wife loved the strawberry basil infused gin. The Vermont Night liqueur was my least favorite. Whiskey infused with citrus zest, winter spices and vanilla sweetened with maple syrup. Way too many flavors plus the spices took over .
It was a shame we had just eaten as their food menu looked amazing.
I would like to try their beers if I’m ever in the area again.
If you love historic buildings as this place was built in 1883 and love crafted beers and spirits, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
We were recommend this gem 3 years ago and have always had amazing service, great liquor, and even better food. The servers have always been knowledgeable and have never steared us wrong.
This trip we went for dinner Friday night which has been our norm, though per Kelly’s recommendation came back today for brunch. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the perfect end to our trip.
The food Kelly recommend for both dinner and brunch fit the spot for my husband and I who have vastly different desires and dietary requirements. Kelly was amazing and took what has always been a positive experience and elevated it. We look forward to being back and saint louis and returning to our very spot. Hope to have kelly as our server again.
