As a couple from Canada we recently had a trip to Nassau and had a fellow traveller rave about Solemar.

I don’t think I’d come back here.
The food just wasn’t worth it.

The atmosphere was definitely classy and beautiful, but the food was a miss for us.

We came around 7:30 pm on a weeknight and it was lively and very busy.

For appetiser’s, we got the grilled octopus. That was tasty and done well – no complaints!

But for my main, I had a very bland, a bit too spicy (despite not mentioning spice in the menu description) Swordfish with a side of veggies.
It wasn’t tasty at all. I didn’t finish it.
It wouldn’t be so horrible if it wasn’t priced as expensive as it is, but it wasn’t great AND it’s an expensive restaurant.
It’s just not acceptable.

The dessert of vanilla bean ice cream was delicious though.

Sad to say I wouldn’t recommend this place or come back.

First visit on our last day of vacation. I wish we had discovered Solemar sooner! We had a lovely lunch with great service. The space was elegant and the view astounding. We thought our meal was one of the best we’ve had over 12 days in the Bahamas. Thank you for a memorable way to end our trip. Will recommend!

What a wonderful dining experience. Despite 50 degree weather, the atmosphere inside was nice and toasty. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and best of all, they had Baked Alaska, one of my childhood favorites. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been here over 10 times, did great reviews but I must say last night has been the worse experience yet. Steak was ordered medium rare, however served with no concern at medium well. Sushi definitely needed more work, crab cakes was excellent. My bill was nearly $500.00. Definitely not looking forward to returning.

The food at Solomar is absolutely incredible! However it is very hard to compare it to the incredible atmosphere. Day and night this location has hands down the best ambience, which captures the true beauty of the Bahamas. If you are anywhere near this corner of the island you MUST visit this spot! there is ample parking across the street, the staff is very friendly, and the service is top notch!

Honestly, the worst steak I’ve eaten in my life! For some reason the steak had no steak flavour! Not sure if it’s because it had been frozen for a long time but not good what so ever! The soup was good and so were my wife’s fish tacos! Oh and the passion fruit lemonade! The kitchen closes at 10:30, no one told us and when we finished eating 10:39 we wanted dessert and they would not serve us dessert because the of that! Not worth the price! The view is nice during the day because it’s right on the water but price/quality not worth it!

Awesome ocean side restaurant specializes in fresh seafood , happy hour is the best 4-6 pm, $5 draft , $10 apps . The $42 lobster Mac and cheese is not worth it , but all other entrees were excellent. Be very careful when crossing road

Located right on the water’s edge, this spot is celebrated for its breathtaking ocean views and relaxed, upscale atmosphere. It is especially recommended for a sunset dinner on the outdoor patio. For a waterfront dining experience in Nassau that caters to both seafood lovers and sushi enthusiasts

I’ve been to this restaurant tons of times before when it was Compass Point and I have to say the renovations and rebrand are hitting all the right notes!

It’s sitting right on the water so views are incredible, and that sunset can’t be beat. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself has also greatly improved – no longer kinda dark and dingy but really an upscale restaurant with the decor, flooring, lights, and decorations to match! I love that they display some of the fish selection as well, super fresh seafood!

Service is professional and attentive, good job on training the staff! A lot of great items on the menu too. Happy Hour is nice so everyone can order something and share then order more of whatever you like, and the full menu is also quite expansive. Everything we ordered was tasty and portions are standard.

It’s a really nice restaurant for any occasion and we’ll definitely visit again!
