My friend and I went the night of the Nelly concert. We called before to ask were they serving food and the woman who answered the phone said yes we serve fried food until 1am and close at 2am that’s when I why we went . We got there at 12 am.We get there and a woman is standing out front and told us they weren’t no longer serving food (cool). Told her about our conversation with staff and she said that’s a lie it was her who we talked to but it wasn’t no need to go back and forth she lied straight to our faces we both heard the same . Anyway bartender (male) was nice and friendly with us . Another customer came to talk with us all he talked about was black men this and that take a guess on our race . We weren’t uncomfortable until that interaction. Definitely not saying he or the establishment were racist . Just telling my experience.Overall it was a relaxed chill spot .

Some time ago I left a (bad) review for Jakeabob’s in Union Beach and it somehow wound up under Ader’s Tavern. At the time I had never been to Ader’s so I’m at a loss for how this happened. I have since been to Ader’s and had a fantastic experience.

Just ordered for pick up, not a busy night at all. Ordered pulled pork sliders, crab cake sandwiches and chilli. I arrive early for pick up and wait for the food. when arriving home with the food which is 3 minutes away. I find no coleslaw which is included, pulled pork very dry. chilli couldn’t pass for warm, the mini crab cake sandwiches were just 1 pile of crab cake. Extremely disappointed as this has usually been a solid local spot.

The crowd is very local. Bartender is nice but sore and slow. The Favorite burger was very good. NE clam chowder was very tasty but the search for clams was not too easy. Beer was cold. Fresh glass every round. I would definitely try it again.

If I had to choose a last meal, there’s a good chance it would be the Ader’s Burger (medium rare, sub American for Swiss). It’s the best burger in NJ. Great bar and bartenders, too.

Ader’s is a little hidden gem, the burgers are great! We sat at a table with our kids and all of us loved our food. Will definitely be going back, highly recommended. Bar, pool table, dart board as well!
