This was our first time trying this place and it just wasn’t up to the hype personally – my partner enjoyed the food!
We ordered the jerk chicken meal, oxtail meal, then the jerk chicken Alfredo. Our sides Mac and cheese, yams, and cabbage.
The jerk chicken was a bit too spicy for my liking. Oxtails were okay. The Alfredo was my personal favorite!
Service: I called and placed the order. Asked if it was okay to ask questions over the phone since this was the first time or if I should do this in person. Was informed it was okay (only had 2 questions). Phone call went quick! I felt she was nice but didn’t really help guide towards popular items so I went with my gut.
Once in person I watched her plain out ignored a customer asking questions. Kind of made me glad I ordered over the phone. Felt bad for him ended up helping him pick.

Place is great! Food was amazing. Meeka upfront was great and friendly. Food tasted like it was made with love and past down from family. Felt like I was in their home.

Dop’s jerk house give me nyc vibes when it come to the tasty food and atmosphere. The food is delicious and been back twice. I cannot wait for the weekend when they will have the oxtail plates. If you was deciding on going there or not I say go!!! Mega going to give you a sample so that you can fall in love with the food, and Robert is chafing it up in the back. The quality of the food is top notch and very reasonable for the price.

This was my second time visiting within 2 years. My order was takeout. I purchased the jerk turkey tips and the large oxtail meal. The first time the food was amazing and full of flavor. The jerk was spicy and the sides were seasoned well as it should had been. The oxtails were larger than they are now. I got a large oxtail meal w/red beans and rice, and cabbage. The oxtails were cut into pieces and put on top a large bed of rice, which made it look like you have a full plate of oxtails, but you don’t. I counted 9 pieces of oxtails. Byj Nothing was actually seasoned. For $26.50 I’m so disappointed because I don’t live in Bloomington. The jerk turkey tips were ok just didn’t have enough sauce on them to keep them moist. I also purchased a large oxtail meal for my son. I can’t wait to hear his thought about his dinner.

My 1st time coming to experience the delicious Jerk food, I drove 1 hour and it was well worth it. Starting with the cashier (Mecca) she greeted us, smiling and provided superb customer service and let me tell you the cook did his thang. The food was fresh, seasoned perfect, I must say the prices was reasonable. I had the jerk chicken tips & jerk wings, I will be back!!

I drove an hour from my town to dine at Dop’s and they did not disappoint! The food was hot and fresh (I’ve never had curried oxtails. They were insanely tender and flavorful). The service was fast and friendly. I will continue to make that drive unless they open a second location in Champaign-Urbana!

Well worth the drive from Champaign… excellent presentation and the flavors are so good. The staff is friendly and highly energized while being very helpful in selection process. Even used hotel wrapping process insuring food did not leak anywhere…Very mindful practice… The food and flavors are actually what they say they are.. the curry chicken is straight smakin .. definitely coming back again…All praises to the Most High for being present sharing and giving back to everyone… One Love

Absolutely fabulous. That Mac and cheese is the best I’ve ever had. We got the pineapple jerk chicken and the brown stew and every bite was amazing. The cabbage was so good. I can’t wait to try more!!! Meeka was busy but super nice and packed the food very nicely. We will be back!!!

My husband & I heard about this restaurant so we drove from Champaign to give it a try.. & it was the best decision we’ve made! We ordered turkey tips, jerk wing dinner w/red beans & rice and double mac (they were out of green beans, we didn’t get there until 8:30pm and they closed at 9pm so we completely understood things could be gone for the night) and the Chicken alfredo… THAT WAS THE BEST ALFREDO WE’VE EVER HAD. My husband and I cannot get over how amazing this food & service was. We would love to see them open a spot in C-U, we’d be regulars for sure! We’re already spreading the word & sending friends and family to bloomington! Thank you for the great food and service! We love to see small businesses succeeding! can’t wait to return!!

Food was awesome!!! I had the catfish dinner with cabbage and sweet potatoes. Also, I had never tried one of their Jamaican drinks. Meeka recommendation was great. I tried the Tropical Rhythms Mango Carrot. Yum!!
