We stopped at Southern Chicks while passing through New Roads on a motorcycle trip with a group, and everyone was impressed. The food absolutely lived up to the recommendations we received and then some. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
Most of the group ordered chicken in one form or another, mostly strips, and everyone kept talking about how good it was. I decided to try something different and went with the chicken liver sandwich. I already love chicken livers, but these were cooked to perfection. Having them on a sandwich was a first for me, and it was incredible.
We finished things off with their homemade cheesecake, which was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. By the time we were done, getting back on the bikes was tough because we were ready for naps. Southern Chicks is absolutely worth the stop, and we’ll be making it a regular destination anytime we’re in the area.

Our group was in town for a training class with the local Police department, and spent 4 days searching for good food in a small town… look no further than Southern Chicks! From the second we walked in, we felt like we were at home, with a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The atmosphere was great, very clean and inviting. We ordered fried chicken, sandwiches, red beans and fried okra… 10/10! The food was amazing. We topped it off with some of there deserts which were amazing as well. Price? Can beat it for the size of the portions and quality. Highly recommend this place a good home cooked style meal. Might go back tomorrow before we head back home!!!

Waited 35 minutes for a chicken sandwich and a 3 piece chicken basket and fried pickles. The dining room was not well kept, most tables was dirty. The chicken was good, mashed potatoes was cold and I did not receive the biscuit that’s advertised to go with the meal.

Ate a late lunch here. Service was good. The fried chicken and biscuit were excellent! The mashed potatoes were good but didn’t really care for the gravy. Got a 2nd meal to take home with a different side so my wife could try the fried chicken. She loved the fried chicken too! Will be back.

Made wrong twice. First I got chicken that wasn’t fresh, although I ordered ahead and still had to wait in line for my order. Asked for heavy mayo, both sandwiches were slacking on that & it’s supposed to come with ranch but.. you guessed it. None. Sooo nice hearing “I gave her ranch!!!” From the kitchen. The right person would have started arguing. If they did add ranch, it was a pinch. Do better yall!

Ordered coleslaw with my Fried Chicken.
Found a staple in the coleslaw. I called to inform them and they were not concerned. Imagine what would have happened if the staple was swallowed. They said there coleslaw comes out of a bag that staples on the bag. Don’t eat here, it is not safe.

Cute location. I love the menu. I’ll have to visit one evening so I can try the daiquiris. Daily specials with fair price. You can’t beat the drive through convenience!

Lady at the drive through was so rude to my husband while ordering that we almost just drove away without finishing ordering. He did finish ordering because I really like the food there. $46 for myself and my husband to get chicken tenders drinks. (They didn’t give me mine) and 2 desserts My husband is the most even tempered person and he almost lost it from the way the lady spoke to him while ordering. She was blonde haired lady working the drive through at 5:30 PM on 5/18/24. We live in new roads and will NOT be back. The foods great, but not worth the attitude.
