If you are looking for a restaurant to go eat! This is the place! the food was delicious Even my Mexican husband enjoyed his food… I ordered empanadas dulces, and a traditional plate with refried beans, fried plantains, cheese, avocado, pupusas and OMG it was a 10/10

While driving down San Pablo searching for something new to eat, El Tazumal Restaurant caught my eye. There was a decent sized parking lot right next to the restaurant so no need to fight or search for parking. Upon entering you can seat yourself or order takeout.
The menu features a variety of Mexican and Salvadorean dishes, seafood included. And the waitress was very helpful and always ready to help us.
The meals we ordered were delicious, full of flavor. I look forward to visiting again soon.
Also when paying there’s a variety of Salvadorean snacks and items available for purchase.

The food is very Hardy perfect for someone who works hard and can afford the extra calories. The papusas are very flavorful and hit the spot. I’ve been out in this area fixing a roof and after 10 hours of back breaking labor nothing satisfies my belly like a proper Salvadorian meal prepared by good people with a passion to share their beautiful culture.
Depending on what you order the food can be carbohydrate heavy but isnt greasy or flavorless — very fresh.
The food was warm when I picked it up, the staff all had masks, and the restaurant itself was clean.

As many Mexican dishes on the menu as Salvadoran, but while my companion enjoyed her burrito, I was dismayed by my coctele de mariscos mixto (mixed-seafood cocktail). The limp, thawed shrimp were utterly flavorless; the promised octopus (pulpo) was nowhere to be seen, unless it was that awful surimi-like stuff tucked in among the avocado slices. Worst of all, the liquid element was pale tomato water, probably from underripe Romas … not even proper tomato juice, let alone sauce. I added Tapatio and salt and salsa and lemon juice until my wrist was sore, but I couldn’t tease a note of flavor out of this mushy concoction. Worst ever.

The papusas were good but my nachos didn’t have any cheese on them. After paying about 20 dollars, I still had to melt my own cheese on them

The food was good, as well as the service. I’ve had better pupusas so they have to work on their recipe. The atol was great but I don’t recommend the horchata because it isn’t what you are used to.

Bruh. This place wack. Waitress was horrible. Forgot things. Wrote different things when we ordered. Pass by us while we asked for our ceviche boxed. Workers slow. They probably got like 2 chefs in the back type of slow. Line to pay is long. They didn’t even have half the drinks in the menu available. What type of restaurant can’t even take off stuff from an order such as mustard. Or repeat the order clearly. Horrible 1/10. I’d put 0 if it was an option.

If you want fancy expensive fine dining this isn’t your kind of place. If you want great authentic food at a great price make a stop here. Food is absolutely delicious with a friendly staff.

In from out of town for work. Came for breakfast. Really, really good food. Best refried beans I’ve ever had, hands down. Good coffee.
Great location, clean, nice decor, friendly staff, everyone in here is all smiles and chatter. Stuck around for about and hour, read and did a little laptop work and nobody made me feel like I was overstaying my welcome.
If I lived local I would be here all the time.
