We’re visiting family and was craving pupusas so decided to give this place a try. We ordered Uber Eats and waited patiently. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT, THE PUPUSAS WERE AMAZING!!! We ordered cheese, revueltas (pork and cheese), and cheese with loroco. They were all authentic and delicious. We also ordered the yucca with chicharron (fried pork belly) and it was fantastic. I wish I could take the restaurant home with me! You must try it out!

Best pupusas in Alexandria / Fairfax! They were kind enough to make me bean pupusas without cheese, which was amazing. Not only are the pupusas so flavorful, they are huge—a great value. Also, the vibes are very relaxed and unpretentious, but it feels homey. I keep going back!

Food: cheese pupusa, cheese and bean pupusa, plantains, yucca.

The pupusas were decent, but a little thick for my taste. The red sauce wasn’t spicy at all, the cabbage didn’t taste very marinated which came with the pupusas. The plantains were good enough. The yucca was too hard and overly deep fried. Moreover, I ordered only yucca but the server brought yucca with some type of meat. I didn’t complain because I am open to chance, but the meat was not edible since it was too hard. After getting the receipt, I discovered they served yuca con chicharron instead of of just yucca. After leaving, I then discovered the meat was likely pork. Argh! I hate pork.

Service: the server and I obviously had language issues. I won’t discount for that, but the service was neither exceptional nor bad. It was expected service, so 3 stars.

Atmosphere: nothing fancy, but they had TVs, music. Seating area is tight because the place is narrow, but the tables in the back had enough room. Again, nothing spectacular, nor terrible, just expected so 3 stars

The food was delicious! The carne asada was tender, the rice was tasty, and the shrimps were buttery. The pupusa de queso was very good with lots of cheese. The horchata was refreshing

Great little hidden gem in Arlandria-Chirilagua! I didn’t realize El Pulgarcito has been around since 1999 and is a family-owned restaurant. Loved the pupusas and tamarindo juice. The pescato frito was wow! Also recommend the Asado Latino.

I’ve gone here a few time and it’s always been amazing food. The pupusas are the best I’ve ever had. Even the steak quesadilla, that we order as appetizer was amazing. This is definitely an authentic Salvadoran restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!

Very good papusas. I ordered the Loroco and two bean and cheese papusas and thought they were very tasty. We also liked the horchata and tamarind drinks. Fun atmosphere and good prices. Will definitely be coming back.

I’m Mexican, and my husband is Salvadorian. It was such an incredible experience. Once he tried the food, it took him back to El Salvador. The food is delicious. Our kids got the pupusas, and he got the Pollo con crema, I got the Plato Tipico. The staff was very friendly and inviting. It’s worth the 40-minute drive. Don’t let the 1-star reviews stop you from giving them a try! Delicious!

Food was delicious! Totally satisfied my pupusa craving. The only reason why I only gave four stars is because I ordered two tacos, one with a thin tortilla and one with a homemade tortilla but I got two homemade tortillas. Regardless, the food was so tasty and the platanos were so sweet and delicious. If I am ever in town again, I’ll be back!
