Everything we got was delicious and made fully in house, including the pasta.
Service was great and the staff were very friendly.
Highly recommend getting the combo that lets you try a dish for each course selection.
While the main dining room was quiet when we arrived, it was great to see the garden bustling despite the Chicago winter. The enclosed garden was incredibly cozy, and we especially enjoyed the warmth of the heat lamps and the wood-burning fireplace. Your team, Nori especially, did a fantastic job guiding us through the menu.
The handmade pasta was exceptional, and every dish was full of flavor. My husband is already looking forward to returning to try more of the gnocchi, as the brown butter and fried sage preparation was the best he has had in years.
Thank you for a lovely evening.
The service was fantastic. Nora, our host was gracious. She made sure we were comfortable. Her recommendations both on food and wine were spot on.
The food was delicious. We had the pappardale pasta and the Gnocchi. Both were well seasoned and fantastic. It paired very well with both the recommended Nebiolo and Venchi wines.
A tad bit expensive but dont regret it one bit.
Service is very attentive, staff are knowledgeable and able to help guide menu decisions. They will push main courses but the homemade pasta is the star of the show and can be upgraded to entree sizes. A great meal can be made from appetizers and entree sized pastas.
Appetizers are on the small side. Burrata is flown in from Italy. There’s a traditional with tomatoes and usually a special. Fantastic. Beet salad with arugula is light on beets. Pear salad was a special. Melon and prosciutto is a great combination and slightly larger appetizer.
Pastas – change from the antipasti size to entree and order many to share. I can’t say there’s a favorite. They’re all homemade and hard to beat. I would recommend getting at least one of the gnocchis. I’ve never had gnocchi so light and airy.
Desserts – panna cotta was the table favorite. Flourless chocolate cake is an excellent rendition. Lemon cake is light and airy after a big pasta dinner.
You can either eat in the more upscale dining room or the slightly more casual deck with fig trees, lemon trees, grapevines, herb boxes, and a fireplace.
Each dish had a handful of parsley on it aside from the dessert. So much so that each bite was parsley forward. If you love parsley, you’re in for a great time. I personally prefer to experience different flavors with each dish, but to each their own.
Going back to the dessert, we were charged for it even though it should have been the 4th course in our 4 course meal. That is unless they consider the fresh bread that was shared between my partner and I to be one of the courses. I say this jokingly as the waitress did state that dessert was included, and offered to bring over the dessert menu if it would sway our decision.
The food itself was disappointing for the price point.
All in all, I would have rated it 2 stars if not for being double charged for two desserts that were supposed to be included. My partner and I were charged $300 for a subpar experience. I paid the bill and didn’t dispute the desserts because at that point I just wanted to leave. I figured an honest review would pay it forward.
