You would never expect this little place to be such a gem. The ice cream was amazing and unique. Very creamy. A few vegan flavors too. Even creamy ones.
My saffron pistachio and my mom’s rose water were amazing.

My mom used to buy me their saffron pistachio ice cream sandwiches from our local market sometimes when I was a kid and it was the best part of the day. The owner is a kind and passionate man who works in the back on the ice cream even though they have a couple of locations. He is the heart of the business and the phenomenal ice cream is evidence. It is rare to find in the food industry nowadays as most people’s intention is to make profit and the product is secondary. I can confidently say it is the best ice cream I’ve had after having tried many ice cream spots around the US. I can go on to describe the flavors, quality, texture etc but I’d do it no justice. Just try it and you’ll see why this place is an LA gem.

I really like this ice cream place! The quality of the ice cream is excellent, and they offer a wide variety of flavors. Some are truly unique—like pistachio with saffron and lavender coconut—and many of them taste amazing. A few are more of an acquired taste, but the staff is happy to let you sample flavors before you decide, which is a big plus.

Payment is easy and convenient—they accept credit cards, cash, Apple Pay, and other forms of NFC payment. While the indoor seating is limited, there are a few spots to sit outside. There’s also plenty of parking available in the lot, which is great.

One downside is that they don’t have a restroom for customers, so keep that in mind. But overall, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try. The prices are fair, and the ice cream is worth it!

Mashti Malone’s is not your typical ice cream shop, and that’s what makes it so special. Located in a humble strip mall, this place is a portal to an incredible world of Persian ice cream. The star of the show for me is, without a doubt, the Rosewater Pistachio.
At first, the flavor might seem unusual to some, but it’s a beautiful and complex experience. The rosewater provides a delicate, almost perfume-like floral note that is perfectly balanced, not overpowering. The creamy base is rich and satisfying, and the generous chunks of roasted pistachios add a fantastic crunch and nutty flavor that complements the rosewater beautifully. It’s a taste that’s both exotic and comforting, and it leaves you wanting more. If you’re looking for an unforgettable frozen treat in LA, you have to try this flavor at Mashti Malone’s.

Great homemade ice cream! I got 2 flavors – the vanilla and mango. Very creamy and delicious. We also tried their baklava. It was scrumptious. We looked up their website after and read they’re number one in best ice creams in LA. I can taste why! Stop by here for some authentic persian ice cream for sure!

“The Malone” / honey rosewater pastry with lavender and saffron rosewater with pistachio ice cream – 5 !

Mashti Malone’s is a hidden gem hiding in plain sight. They have been an LA Hollywood ice cream shop serving distinct, unique flavors long before most other places even opened up. Their flavor selection will look exotic to a westerner like me but not at all strange to their middle eastern guests.

Apparently lavender is like vanilla in some areas of the world. The Mashti Malone lavender does not shy away from leaning into the distinct, flowery taste. The rosewater is more subtle but still very nice and has little pieces of pistachio throughout.

They have three unique sundae style offerings that come with a middle eastern pastry. I went with the Malone which is sort of like a big, sticky, honey flavored cookie. It is too hard to cut into it with the plastic spoon which was not a problem for me.

Overall, a great place that some folks will likely never know is there since they tend to fly a bit under the radar. But if you are an ice cream fan and enjoy new flavors, give them a try!

Every flavor stood out, wow! We went twice in the same day. The 4 flavors for $10 flight is a steal, perfect for sharing. I HIGHLY recommend the peanut butter cookie flavor, and the alphonso mango flavor was also incredible.
