An example was waiting for another drinks order to be taken. Then waiting another 10 minutes for our drinks to be made while multiple staff were standing around polishing glasses only to be finally told they are missing basic cocktail ingredients. Then waiting again for the new drinks order to be made and staff brought over one drink at a time instead of using a tray.
It’s a shame because the food was really quality but lacking service brought down the overall experience.
Thanks Helin
We had the sharing platter to start and it was delicious. My partner had a steak and I had a burger, both great. Food quality was really good!
The only downside really was how close the tables were to each other and small our table was, we struggled to fit the food and glasses on. It was also quite noisy but none of this stopped us having a great meal out.
We would love to go back again. 100% recommend.
We gave Blue Salt a second go after a really disappointing experience about 3 years ago. This second visit was just as bad for all the same reasons.
The service was polite but completely lacking. My main course of Chicken and Chips was served without chips. When I asked for the chips the waitress disappeared behind the bar and never returned. I had to ask a second waitress for the missing chips which eventually came. How can you serve something when 50% of it is missing from the plate?!
The meat was well cooked (baby chicken and pork ribs) but the portions were small for the money. Chicken and chips shouldn’t cost almost £24. We then had to wait 30mins for the bill.
We have given up and don’t know why this place has so much hype.
What’s most disappointing isn’t just the steak, but the reviews that convinced me this was a good idea. Either expectations here are extremely low, or the definition of “cooked” is wildly different. If you enjoy your steak borderline alive, you may love it. I won’t be returning. Once is enough when your dinner fights back.
When it came to ordering our food, we wanted the tomahawk sharer – that was the reason we were there. We were told that we couldn’t have it and we needed to request at booking if we wanted it. Firstly, we weren’t told that when we booked even though the husband said we were coming for it and secondly, it doesn’t state anything about reserving a tomahawk on the website as far as I can see. She suggested that we could have a cowboy steak and told us the difference. A different waitress came for our order and told us we couldn’t share the cowboy steak.
At this point I wanted to leave but the husband persuaded me to stay, so we ordered the blue salt burger.
Overall the burger was ok but it was so greasy that the bottom half of the bun deteriorated and most of the filling fell out.
Service was ok, nothing to shout about.
Not sure if we’ll try again
