Our recent visit to this Chinese buffet was largely a delight! We thoroughly enjoyed the variety and quality of the food offered, and the service was genuinely friendly and attentive. We especially appreciated the excellent selection of chicken dishes available! Being a smaller establishment compared to some of the larger Asian buffets, we could appreciate the effort in managing food waste.
One minor point we observed was that refills seemed to take a little longer than usual. While understandable in the context of a small business and their approach to portion control, it might be something to be aware of, especially if you have a particular favorite dish you’re eager to enjoy more of.
Additionally, while we enjoyed the chicken, the overall flavor profile of most items leaned towards the sweeter side, which was a bit of a disappointment for my husband, especially as there was only one or two beef dish available.
Interestingly, we were charged $5.95 for our almost two-year-old. While they did offer some kid-friendly options, this is something families with young, picky eaters who often share plates might want to know in advance, as it wasn’t listed on the in-house price board. It would be helpful for planning purposes.
Overall, we had a positive experience and appreciate the charm of this local business.

To be fair, I visited this restaurant around 2:30 pm on a Tuesday. The buffet availability was pitiful. They were out of not just a few dishes, but about half. I got the last few green beans, scraped the pan on the peanut chicken and general tso’s chicken. There were quite a few people eating there too. The food was okay, not great. The table was sticky. The only dessert available was packaged cups of ice cream. We love Chinese buffets but this one was a bust.

A gem! I came during a non-busy time and they handle it PERFECTLY: each item on the buffet was available but in smaller, controlled batches. This meant it was all fresh, normally not the case in other buffers during slow periods, and piping hot. All dishes were of above average quality. I will make this an “always stop” when travelling through Murphy.

This is a cool little place tucked away in a small town. The chic atmosphere itself made it worth the trip. If you are the road between casinos or heading home, Chinatown Buffet has an excellent all you can eat buffet. It’s not overwhelming but has enough to satisfy your hunger. The staff was great very attentive, making sure items stayed stocked. Any time I am in the Murphy area, I will be stopping by Chinatown Buffet.

I visited this place at 2:30 pm on a Tuesday. There were quite a few people eating there but the buffet was bare. Several pans were empty and I cleaned out the bottom of 4 pans myself. The only dessert available was packaged ice cream cups. The table was sticky. We love to eat at Chinese buffets, but this one was truly disappointing.

Best Chinese in the WNC area hands down . I always eat at the buffet with my parents. My mom loves the wonton soup~ my favorite is the chicken and broccoli. The food on the buffet is always fresh and delicious!! Cheap prices too! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Murphy. 谢谢❤️

This has been my favorite restaurant for 10 years now. When I’m in Murphy I have to go. The steam dumpling are authentic and buffet is always fresh and clean. Love Love Love Chinatown and every year I get a new calendar to hang on my wall
