This place is a staple for good reason. Lately I’ve been really loving going on the weekends. The beef stew they have on occasion is incredible. Great menu options at good prices. And don’t forget to get a giant cookie!

The food and service is good. However cleanliness is not. I had to wipe the dirty table and chair before seating. Then I noticed that everyone was doing the same thing. So I paid attention to staff and I saw that they only pick up the dirty dishes but do not sanitize the tables. Not once! The area where you get water and coffee is filthy and that trash can… oh dear! Even though it’s very cute and the food was great, I don’t recommend this deli.

I live abroad but came back to the Alamo City for a visit. W D Deli has been a favorite local spot for me for decades. It is still one of my favorite lunch spots on the planet.

Get the panini ! White chicken chili — oddly surprised it was so good. The drink would be better if they had weekly speciality drinks bc that just matches the vibe of the cafe but it’s just regular coke products …. Atmosphere is great , as well as customer service … cookies are made from scratch & it’s just a good overall spot

Great sandwiches, cookies are awesome, ambiance is cool and staff is always friendly. Great spot for a break and tasty food. Try the Ranger cookie and the fried bologna sandwich.
**Rating Change Update** Still a great spot, we’ve been back often. Today we had a delicious pumpkin cream cheese cookie. But I did drop my score by one star today because I noticed the same thing each time I’ve gone back; how sticky their tables are. I just deal with it each time, but today I realized, this happens all the time and it’s the worst feeling. These tables have been bussed, wiped down, and “cleaned”, but they’re still gross and sticky/tacky to the touch. This goes for not only downstairs but upstairs as well. I hope this changes, it’ll be a more enjoyable experience for patrons. Thank you!

Great atmosphere would definitely be a nice study space. Only complaints are (and these are more preferences than problems) the turkey was thick cut, and they do not have Splenda or stevia sweeteners.

So I ordered out from this place before the food was ok the last time and I decided to give it another shot and I reordered the same plate hoping to be better however finding what looks like a lighter tag in my scrambled eggs on the “Pancake Plate” was certainly an unpleasant surprise and quite concerning. The discovery immediately destroyed my appetite and raised serious questions about kitchen hygiene and food preparation standards. I’m including with this review some pictures that clearly show the foreign object nestled within the eggs on the plate. This experience has left me feeling quite dissatisfied and hesitant to eat from here again. I hope the management takes immediate action to address this issue and ensure the quality and safety of their food.

First time here and I love it! The food was so good and the portion sizes were large. Plenty of seating that accommodates either single customers or larger groups. Definitely kid friendly, too. The staff is super nice!

Came here with my sister. A perfect spot for a cup of coffee. Breakfast was warm and well cooked. Loved the ambience. I noticed tons of signs and notices of their volunteer efforts for the hungry and pride community. Definitely a go to favorite now.
