The owner was nice enough. Place was clean. All I ordered was two pieces of fish. It did not take long to get my order. But when I got home and opened up the bag and saw the fish. Wow was it small. The fish was cooked well enough but the batter was flavorless. I can’t say anything to the service, I didn’t eat in. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Was pretty disappointed this visit, I have been eating Thimmes fish sandwiches for over 40-years and when you know how they taste and then something changes it’s really obvious. The fish sandwiches had no flavor at all. 2 sandwiches 1 french fry and 1 can of pop was $17.39 .. i would be ok with that if the fish sandwich tasted like it once did. Not sure what you have changed but you changed something. Also, you need to turn the heat up some as it was very cold in the restaurant, we had an older couple next to us that kept their winter coats on they were so cold. I hope if you changed your fish, coating, buns or whatever that you go back to how it was before. Don’t follow the trend of some places that raise prices but buy cheaper ingredients, it never goes over well with long time customers.

We were driving through Lancaster and realized we’ve never actually dined here before. Deep fried Oysters, fish and shrimp. All 3 were delicious! I believe it was a father and son that were there and they guided us through the menu. Prices are incredible. I’d definitely come back. What a gem! I highly recommend.

This place knows how to handle and cook seafood. Been to many places that give you overcooked and tough oysters and clams. Was also informed by the woman working as to where the oysters came from without even asking. Thimmes has a very crunchy batter and the oysters were pulled from the oil at just the right time to keep them tender. They absolutely know what they’re doing when it comes to quality fried seafood. Went there for the first time yesterday, made a regular out of me.

Been eating at Thimmes for over 50 years. Best fish anywhere! Not a fancy place, but if you like fresh fried fish, it’s not to be missed. Not a big place. Not a huge menu. Simple, but they know what they ate doing. Long time family business!
