The Real Housewife of Ghost Hunting
Not sure about the folks who’ve given this place bad reviews. Perhaps they were drunk and forgot where they were eating. I lived about 1 mile from this place for years and loved every meal I ate therein. The Chile Colorado is unlike any other you’ll find in Nashville. It’s made like it’s supposed to be made, with pork shoulder, and it’s delicious. The refried beans are homemade and fried in lard, like they by-God should be made (I know ’cause i asked the lady who cooks ’em). Again, if you don’t like this place … go back to Las Palmas or Taco Bell or somewhere equally craptastic.

Newly remodeled but established over thirteen years ago, Monterrey is now one of my favorite pit stops. The staff is friendly and hustles to provide the best experience possible. The portions are absolutely incredible!!

Food was pretty good, just wasn’t hot. Maybe because the plates the brought out on was room temp. I’m used to Mexican food coming out on plates so hot you shouldn’t touch them. If they could do that, it would have been very good. The waiter was nice I guess, but very mumbly and didn’t seem to enjoy talking to people. Would go back if in the area.

I called over 8 “Mexican” restaurants while visiting Nashville last week, and no one was / served caldo! My MIL was sick and wanted authentic hot soup, and this place is IT!! She saved the day when she answered my call and said “yes we have caldo” and she went as far as to even mention that it wasn’t full of veggies per how it’s usually made. She said this one was more of a consume style.
I took it anyway, ordered one for pick up. It was ready when I arrived. She took card. I was in and out with no wait time.
Truly was so grateful. And it made my MIL feel so much better!
Came with rice and utensils.

Stopped here on a whim, out of pure curiosity. It’s fantastic! Really tasty food. Not overhyped with sugars and spices. Just good home cooked meals. I had the Lunch Tamales and they were perfection! I’ll be coming back here again.

Best tamales I’ve found you can order by the dozen to go hot or cold. They are made fresh in house every week. They even take special orders on holidays if you order ahead. Moved from Antioch area so don’t eat there as much as I use to. Used to have a combo plate that was awesome.

Ordered from there last night. Food was not prepared well, nachos had practice no cheese, and the jalapeno on top had no cheese on them at all, and we’re just cold brined slices. Didn’t send any tortillas, asked for no pico, got pico. Decent amount of filler(beans, Sour cream and rice) in the entree but the meat was pretty lacking flavor and overdone. sent me a shrimp taco with pico on it instead of shrimp. It might be a nice place to sit and order from, idk about any of that, but I wouldn’t recommend ordering delivery.

I am from Arizona so that being said this has to be the most flavorless Mexican food I have ever had. Let me tell you I have had lots of Mexican food I grew up on it . It is to bad that they are afraid to put some flavor in there food.
