The Outpost Cafe is quite the unique spot in Fairplay, Colorado. The cafe is tucked inside the Hand Hotel and is a hidden gem. The ambiance is spot on being on the historic Front Street in Park county, cozy seating, free WiFi and unbelievable views. Super friendly and helpful service upon arrival. The oat milk latte was exceptionally delicious and the perfect temperature. I also had the smothered breakfast burrito with bacon, it was huge in size and flavor. The green chili was hearty and had a small kick of spice. This cafe just became my go-to for caffeine and bfast. Thank you! See you soon.

I had a tasty cup of coffee and a sweet potato burrito with green chili on top. Fantastic way to start any day.

The Outpost Café at the Hand Hotel is a place I’ll happily keep going back to. The space itself is beautiful, an intentional blend of historic charm and fresh, modern design that feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully done.
The food is outstanding. Fresh-squeezed juices, incredible house-made sausage, and delicious pastries, and they even have gluten-free options. The elixirs are next level- I had the Prunes, made with cucumber, jalapeño, pineapple, and mint. Refreshing, balanced, and just the right amount of heat.
They even made me The Belle Burrito gluten-free with their house-made sausage, black bean, spinach, egg, sweet potato, cheddar, and a hot honey drizzle. It was absolutely delicious and so well executed.
You can feel the care in every detail, from the menu to the atmosphere. This truly is a hidden gem in the heart of Fairplay and one you don’t want to miss. Highly recommend.

I stopped in with my son to check out this new coffee shop and enjoy some breakfast a couple of weeks ago. It was lovely! I got the breakfast burrito and a coffee, and my son had a chocolate croissant. Everything was delicious, reasonably priced, and served up quickly. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy, and the two ladies working the café were so sweet. Can’t wait to return!

Stopped here on the way to crested butte for some breakfast and coffee. Good food and coffee and all the staff were super nice. We planned to take the food to go and eat on the way but the cafe was so welcoming we sat down for breakfast. Highly recommend stopping here to fuel for your winter adventures

Such a great addition to Front Street in Fairplay! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and Cassie and Cat were smiling, happy faces first thing in the morning. Everything we tried was excellent and clearly fresh. We had the breakfast burrito smothered in green chili, a breakfast sandwich, egg bites, a chocolate hazelnut croissant, and fresh orange juice—everything was delicious. It’s easy to see how much care has gone into creating this space. We will definitely be back!
