This was absolutely the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I can’t believe the high praise everyone has given it. The garlic chicken was WHITE. Literally no color, all the same texture. The Mongolian beef is the weirdest I’ve ever had. It was like spicy sweet and sour sauce, where you could distinctly taste the ketchup. Very very bizarre. The fried rice was decent and pot stickers OK. Sizzling rice soup kind of bland too. Really disappointed, a serious waste of $50+

Friendly staff, good service, restaurant feels dated. Mongolian beef came out cold, gross flavor, was able to change dish to Kung pao chicken.

Had the Sweet & Sour lunch special & it was really good. The prawns were also very good & fresh

The service was good but not particularly engaging. The biggest annoyance was the lack of ability to substitute, even with an upcharge, I would a reasonable uncharted to pork fried rice or a different soup. The policy detracts from really good food and a uniquely Chinese atmosphere.

I’ve always loved Yen Ching, have been going for over a decade if not more to both the Stockton and Lodi locations. Yesterday I ate at the Lodi location. I have to say, food is always good but the service and personnel is not always kind or warm. Yesterday I got a lunch special. I was not allowed to substitute, they’ve let me do it in the past but ok, I understand the reasons and I still loved my food. The server was cold and very “NO!” To everything I asked her. When she brought me the food I asked her for some sweet and sour and she was already leaving and giving me her back. Didn’t even say “ok, I’ll bring it in a bit” nothing just cold. She brought me water and never came back to ask if I was ok or needed more…I half way choked with my food and still couldn’t get a hold of her to bring me anything. She appeared really quickly to drop off my bill and again disappeared quickly with no chance to ask her for ANYTHING. She was rude and unkind. I try and not go as often for that reason…because of the service. Food is great though for sure!

I ordered to go and when I got home. I was looking forward to Kung pao. Chicken, it was more like kung pao onion. You can probably put all the chicken on one tablespoon. I haven’t been in there in a while. It has changed.

Well..Here I am in Lodi…Again! Every time I find myself in Lodi I say how the hell did this happen? I was just going out for pizza and a beer at Brickbats Pickleback, and meet up with Hoboken Joe, and Hairlip Louie when the KWOK station started playing nothing but CCR and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and I was hypnotized…All the way to Lodi. I came to my senses in the parking lot of the Yen Ching Chinese Restaurant, and figured hell I’ll just go in and have Chinese, so I did and it was Amazing! Well worth the trip from Napa. 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

The food was pretty good and not a bad price. I would have given it 5 stars but they did not have chicken in foil. Out of the tin foil apparantly. Crab puffs came out nice and hot. The service was very fast and the beef curry was delicious .

The interior is pretty, the server is fast and nice. Lunch meal is quite cheap and the portion is big.
