The overall experience at Crown Fried Chicken was a good one. The staff was friendly, and the food was made quickly and accurately.
The onion rings were fantastic. The cheeseburger was better than fast food burgers. The 13 year old said the chicken fingers and fries were good.
The desserts were average, but they seemed to be “store bought.” I did not like the macaroni and cheese, which is strange as I enjoy most macaroni and cheese.
The inside ordering area of the restaurant was dirty, so that was a downside.
Overall, the food was good and the service was friendly. I view this place as a fast food type stop but better than fast food.

This was my first time at this location, I am a long-time Crown” Fried Chicken customer. These sides were tasteless, the greens were spicy with no seasoning just a spicy pot liquor. This cheap store-bought cheesecake(find another vendor). Mac and cheese were just embarrassing. The two stars are for the chicken only! The three stars left are for the items listed.

Never heard of a place that sells chicken and can’t do a 21 piece chicken only place has good chicken but the management sucks put you on hold for 20 minutes and then tell you they don’t have enough chicken to do a 21 piece just pitiful should be called a piece of fried chicken just not the way to do business

Ordered & paid in person for 100 wings at Portsmouth, VA location the Saturday before Easter around 5:30pm for Sunday @2pm pickup I also ordered 6 wing combo to eat that day. I noticed a different employee & expected same service, 1 extra wing. I didn’t hear it & didn’t receive it. Needless to say, I paid by bankcard so keeping the receipt & bringing it the next day didn’t cross my mind. It is also typical that this location closes out its transactions nightly, however, not & red flag #2!
I arrived @2:13pm without my receipt, however, with my processing authorization; therefore sane gentleman from Saturday tells me I need to wait 20 minutes for my order that I can clearly see so he can ensure that he is giving me the correct order. That is when it became on & popping.
He then talks over me… I needed to inform him I understood business hence I paid with Visa… a gentleman tried to assist & the employee is going to talk to the man & disregard me (a female old enough to be his grandmother)… not!
I’ve enjoyed years of service, relationship, food & even given referrals to this location. CHANGE, however dictates a different course of action!

I ate here before when the previous owner was here. No problems and everything was good. Tonight, I am FLOORED. I ordered a 10 piece Jumbo Shrimp (the only other shrimp up there is popcorn) I expected Jumbo shrimp. I got: overfried COCONUT shrimp. I’m allergic. I never asked for it and never saw it on any menu. The fries tasted reheated by the grease. But the shrimp tho! The guy was nice but his explanation for them having coconut didn’t make sense at all. How do I order one thing and get another totally different thing?? I won’t be back.
