I went yesterday with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and the ribs, pulled pork and rib tips were amazing! The flavor, temperature and quality reminded me of the BBQ I had eaten when I lived in USA.
The owner is super friendly and even explained to to us why brisket was not available, and we learned that if the quality of the meat was not perfect he rather not cook it and offer to customers. A true testament to the amazing plates of food we had! We recommend you to try the Pork Sampler and I will for sure take my dad soon to eat ribs done the right way!
Order the fries with pulled pork, either for one hungry person or as a starter in a family’s / friends table.
The brisket (when there’s available, is extraordinary, very jucy and just the right amount of smokiness)
Now, at least for me, the star of the night are those smoked ribs. Their tenderness, flavor and moist are on point and the bone just comes right out the meet with just pulling them.
As well, you know when a place is good when the owner [and chef] is on the floor backing up his work, in top of this a really nice person
Highly recommend.
The food is OK and the service is excellent but we expect for MUCH stronger SMOKY experience from a place that puts the SMOKE in their front.
We are smoked meat fans and we usually aren’t missing an opportunity to eat in places that serving that kind of food.
So it was natural for us to come to this place when visiting San Jose.
To be honest, we came with expectations due to the Google reviews and the unambiguous name.
We ordered a classics:
Wings, 1/2 Chicken, and 1/4 KG brisket.
NONE of them had enough smoky flavor in my opinion.
The wings were nice, and the brisket was really good as texture and taste but almost no trace of the smoky taste we expected.
We let the waiter know about our disappointment from the lack of smoked flavor of the brisket and it doesn’t seem she had something to do with it.
We ate at few places in Costa Rica which do not specializes in meat smoking but serving smoked meat with a much stronger flavor and smoky aromatic.
If you like really gentle smoky aromatic it might be the place for you.
Prizes are reasonable for “smoked meat” you’re looking at at a minimum of $30 per head (give or take) for an adult.
Delicious food no doubt, they didn’t have brisket the day I visited, so I’ll have to pay them another visit in the future.
