Umi’s is a wonderful place. Just in Modesto for a little visit. All agreed on Sushi. This is the ONLY sushi restaurant open between 2-4pm. It is a jewel. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and our server was a sweetheart (Thank you). One family member was in a w/c and she had already prepare a special place for her. We ate our fill and the ticket was half what we pay at home PS Monday-Thursday at lunch they half off sushi rolls (not sure about times)

This is my girls favorite sushi place. I’m not really a sushi person. She does the dragon roll and I do the Teresa Chicken roll. Mine isn’t really sushi, sort of.
There is plenty of choices on the menu. They are usually busy with online orders and the restaurant.
All in all a good choice for this type of food.

This quiet but homey sushi spot needs more attraction. The food quality is superb in all of Modesto, the swiftness of staff to serve is amazing, and the environment is quiet while you enjoy a delicious meal. Having tried Okinawa sushi and steakhouse this one takes the cake. As I hold that place dear, I will be coming more often to Umi as their deliverance is a 10/10.

This place has always been a good spot for sushi. I came in today and took a take out order of a bento box. There was an item that was accidentally missed so I went back and they were so polite to add california rolls with the item that I missed. The service is amazing and the owner and staff are so polite. I recommend the food and the service, they make sure to provide a good experience.

Good sushi with lots of options to choose from. If you go during a weekday they have plenty of different rolls to choose from that are half off price. They offer bento boxes and other lunch specials that are a good price as well. Staff is friendly, they just sometimes take a little long, but definitely recommend coming here!

Me and the rest of my family went for dinner here on a Friday night, and it was completely obvious that they were understaffed. Not because of the service or anything, but because the few servers were running around doing five things at once and boy were they AMAZING at it!
The two young women who served us were absolutely great, and nothing but polite to each and everyone of us. There was a group double our size across from us that I believe was one of the main reasons the poor waitresses had such a rough night. Some of the demands we could hear from them were pretty bizarre and met with rudeness when the waitresses couldn’t accomplish them properly. Gave my table a good snicker though!
The food itself was absolutely delicious. I ordered the fried potstickers as an appetizer, and got the green dragon roll as an entree. Both were great but I will definitely be coming back to have another green dragon roll soon ! And maybe try some of their bento as well!

Been going to Umi Sushi for a long time now. I absolutely love the sushi here. Every roll tastes so fresh. Even the bento boxes are delicious. The fish quality is chef’s kiss. Customer service is incredible! Everyone is super friendly, from servers, sushi cooks to owner. Umi Sushi is 10x better than Fumi Sushi. Hands down 5/5 stars. Highly recommend!
