This franchise comes from Detroit and opened a new local in Thomasville, NC. The seafood was very fresh and tasty! We ordered jumbo shrimp and fried catfish. The seasoning was perfect, and the batter was at the exact point. The tartar sauce for the fish tasted homemade and gave an extra touch to the fish. Prices were very reasonable!

This is a newish establishment here in Thomasville. There is another location in Greensboro as well. I tried it for the first time yesterday and got their large catfish basket. It came with slaw and hush puppies. The catfish was fried beautifully and has great flavor. The coleslaw was also good although I personally prefer a bit more sweetness in slaw. The hush puppies were good as well although a bit on the dense side. But we all have our preferences. They had homemade sauces which were all delicious!
I learned they were having a customer appreciation event for three days where they were giving a free meal to the first 100 customers each day. So I returned today to try something different and dined in rather than getting take out.
I had popcorn shrimp, cod, chicken wings and collard greens. The popcorn shrimp and greens were my favorites although they all tasted good. I was impressed with the amount of free food they were serving! I had to get a take home box for half of mine. Their tea is delicious as well!
The gentleman I spoke with yesterday was very friendly and accommodating. The servers today were also very attentive and accommodating while remaining friendly, even in the midst of a very busy lunch hour.
My take away after two meals there… the food is good. The service is EXCELLENT! They clearly care about their customers and helping them to have a delicious meal and pleasant dining experience. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this establishment.

Tried The Captains Table in Thomasville. I must say that as a 1st time customer, I was very impressed. A very clean and tidy restaurant. Very well explained menu and was fixed in a timely manner. Very good portion size. The oysters were nice and meaty. Other places you tend to end up with more breading on fried oysters than meat. These were lightly breaded and meaty and there were plenty on the plate. The flounder was cooked perfect. And the potatoes were enormous. And the fried corn on the cob is a must try! I will definitely be going back! Very friendly staff and pur server made quite a few trips to keep checking on is while dining! Definitely reccomend you try this location out!

Great food, great prices! Loved the popcorn shrimp and the catfish bites. The jumbo shrimp wasn’t my favorite nor was the Mac N cheese. I wish they had a children’s menu though, because the 4 pcs (smallest amount) chicken tender tray was way too much food for my 4 yr old.

Its just ok. The seafood is just your average everyday frozen variety. A little disappointing considering we really aren’t that far from the coast. They just opened up & this is like a franchise fast food restaurant. The inside is nice & pretty. Smell of lacquer was strong on I guess the flooring. The gentleman that could be owner or manager on duty was extremely nice.

I usually don’t like to do reviews on to-go orders but this was our first time eating here & everything was really good! The popcorn shrimp and frys would have obviously been better not sitting in a to-go box where they absorb moisture.. but still not bad! The chicken sandwich was DELICIOUS! & the coleslaw, okra and mac and cheese were all reallyy good too! I’m excited to try in house next time! Just had it delivered for convenience because I was to lazy to make dinner & didn’t feel like going out lol Only negative thing I would have to say is I wouldn’t recommend the sweet tea. I think it’s the premade stuff so unless you’re into that sorta thing.. I’d go with something else. Other than that, allllll good!

I had to try it and I must say one of the seafood restaurants in town. I don’t know what it is about the chicken wings but it has a different flavor then other restaurants and it hit the stomach and immediately reminds you of how food used to taste back in the good old days. They also have a strawberry shortcake dessert that is delicious overall top notch and you can never go wrong at the captains table. If you like catfish, oysters, cod, whiting or tilapia I suggest you try Detroits best seafood restaurant 4 years in a row. If you don’t believe me go try it for yourself and be the judge best value price wise around and exquisite taste packed with flavor you want disappointed.

Everything was extraordinary! The flounder, popcorn shrimp and jumbo shrimp were amazing, tried the fried corn and that was a first time for me but I am in live.
The service was great, fast and prices just as other fish restaurants like mayflower or skippers.

3rd update. Big fan of Frank the Manager. He knows how to treat every customer that steps into his place.

2nd Update: picked up dinner for two. Went with the combo/pick 2. I chose 2 pcs fish (they allow any type you want) and small Popcorn shrimp. It comes with fries and a drink. They allowed me to sub a baked potato (which was absolutely enormous). Tried their homemade lemonade which is very good and comes in three flavors: regular, strawberry and blueberry. The two pieces of fish were on top of a mountain of popcorn shrimp. This easily would feed two people. Nice lady helped me carry all stuff to the car.

Their sauces are homemade and are INCREDIBLE! The Captains garlic sauce is as good as any sauce I have ever had. The sweet chili was good but I was dipping my baked potato skin in that garlic!

Update: Popped in to get a chicken sandwich to go. They made it fresh. Took a few minutes but totally worth it. This chicken sandwich will stand up to any of them on the market. Nice bun. Lettuce, tomato. Cheese pickles. Offered me homemade sauces. Got ”exotic’ and buffalo. Both were quite good and definitely homemade.

Solid fish and chicken with a standard order at the counter set up. Went with a fish sandwich (cod/you get to pick your type of fish). Made it a combo. Side and a drink for a few bucks more. Not cheap but good food never is. Sandwich was on a toasted bun. Slaw was good. Mac n Cheese side more than respectable with a cheese factor of impressive proportions. Banana pudding was good. At first I thought it was a tad too sweet but I think it was just me. Service was quick and efficient. Impressed with managers. They were training a new employee but we’re still quick. They have three types of homemade lemonade!

Mixed review. Starting with the good:
Great popcorn shrimp
Great coleslaw
Great service
Many updates to the building
Large portions

Not as good:
Odd smell in building
Odd tasting hush puppies
Flounder was corn mill breading
chicken wings are not traditional style (see pics)

The food is NOT greasy like many of the reviews have said (see pics).
