From a value for money perspective their sushi is as good as it gets. They seem to have regulars (which includes families with you g kids) and they are very friendly one couple walks in an said “the usual” sat at the bar and they were served their usual beer and about 10 minutes later their usual carryout order was brought to them.

I liked the decor a lot. It was clean and neat as well.

The food was good. They have a Peking Duck appetizer which is a cool take on it. The fresh sweet shrimp was 3 for $9 with the fried heads – which is the most I’ve seen anywhere – and it was good.

You won’t be disappointed.

My friends and I visited Sushi Ya on Valentine’s Day for a double date. Before coming in, I called to confirm whether they offered drinks with dinner service. At no point during that call was I told they were fully booked or that reservations were required due to the holiday.

When we arrived, we stood at the entrance for several minutes while staff looked in our direction but did not greet us. When someone finally approached us, the first question was whether we had a reservation. We did not, and the response felt dismissive. We were told, loudly, in front of other patrons, that we should have called first and that next time we needed to do so. I explained that I had already called earlier that day.

I completely understand that Valentine’s Day is a busy evening and that restaurants may be fully reserved. That wasn’t the issue. What was disappointing was the lack of warmth, hospitality, and basic courtesy. A simple explanation of the wait time, an apology for being fully booked, or even a suggestion of better days/times to visit would have made a big difference.

Instead, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome and embarrassed. Customer service is about how you make guests feel, especially on special occasions. Unfortunately, this experience made it difficult to want to return.

Inside is so cozy! The Sushiya roll is amazing and is very generous in size. The owner is also incredibly attentive and caring.

A True Gem of Japanese Cuisine!
This small Japanese restaurant is an absolute discovery! Usually, when you’re super hungry, any food tastes good, but this was different: every dish was truly delicious, and that’s no exaggeration.
The atmosphere in the place is incredibly cozy and relaxing, and the background music was wonderfully pleasant – it perfectly complemented the evening.
What particularly surprised me was the variety of soups. In many Japanese restaurants, the selection is limited, but here I found so many interesting options, and all of them turned out to be incredibly tasty!
The sashimi deserves a special mention: it was incredibly tender, melting in your mouth, with the perfect amount of rice that only enhanced the fish’s flavor rather than overpowering it.
I highly recommend it to all connoisseurs of authentic Japanese cuisine! You definitely won’t regret it.

Always inviting from the moment you walk in the door.
Wonderful presentation and it’s delicious!
Best to make reservations for dinner on the weekends as it gets crowded and space is limited.
There is a small private dining area for special occasions near the front door.
The owners and their family go the extra mile to make sure you have a memorable dining experience!
Don’t forget the tempura ice cream for dessert!

I stumbled upon this sushi place on the way back from a concert in Baltimore, completely by chance. Reasonably priced, great service, and overall a good sushi spot. Not a fan of the red sauce, which covered the flavors but the sakura roll was great. My friends enjoyed their sushi combos and fried ice cream.
